Company Description

Kenn Borek Air (KBA) is a diversified worldwide aircraft charter and leasing operation. The KBA Maintenance team is currently seeking a detail-oriented professional with strong data analysis skills to fill the role of Maintenance Data Analyst. This full-time (Mon-Fri) position is based in Calgary, AB. This is an on-site role, and remote work is not an option.

Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, the Maintenance Data Analyst will provide organizational support for both the KBA maintenance group and the KBA finance group primarily through an array of data analysis activities focused on maintenance cost reporting, inventory management, and operational insights.

Job Description

Major Responsibilities of the Role

Maintenance & Cost Reporting

• Design and build recurring maintenance cost analysis reports for use by maintenance leadership and KBA management.
• Develop analysis of maintenance expenditures by aircraft, component type, and work order to identify cost trends and anomalies and to facilitate improvements in maintenance planning.
• Develop dashboards and summary tools to present maintenance cost data in a clear and concise format.
• Identify opportunities to reduce maintenance costs through data-driven actional insights.

Inventory Analytics & Reporting

• Using various software tools, perform analysis of aircraft parts inventory including usage patterns, aging, and costing.
• Obtain and consolidate data for inventory levels, purchase orders, transaction history, and inventory movements.
• Develop inventory reporting tools that can be run periodically by other staff to monitor inventory health and highlight potential issues.
• Work with material management to maintain accurate inventory records and support stock level optimization efforts.

Data Integrity & Analysis

• Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) and data cleaning on maintenance and inventory datasets.
• Identify errors and inconsistencies in data and work with maintenance and material management groups to address issues.
• Develop automated tools and processes to detect new data issues on an ongoing basis.
• Support ad hoc data analysis and reporting requests as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Python for data analysis, including; Pandas, data visualization libraries (e.g. Matplotlib, Plotly), and general scripting.
• Strong reporting and dashboard development skills; ability to build tools that non-technical staff can use independently.
• Detail oriented with a demonstrated ability to find and resolve data quality issues.
• Exceptional communication skills - must be able to present analysis results to individuals at all levels of the organization and clearly document work for others to replicate.
• Willingness to be hands-on in the warehouse environment.
• Basic proficiency in MS Excel.
• Strong work ethic' ability to work efficiently, independently, or as part of a team.

Additional assets include experience with relational databases, Microsoft Access, VBA, text mining, regular expressions, machine learning, supply chain, inventory management, or maintenance operations. Previous aviation experience is not required.

This opportunity may be particularly relevant to current students and recent graduates with experience in data analysis, reporting, dashboard development, Python, or operational decision support.
