Keystone Environmental, located in Burnaby BC, is one of Western Canada's leading environmental consulting firms, recognized as one of Canada's Top Small & Medium Employers for six consecutive years and certified as a Great Place to Work in 2024, 2025 and 2026.

We are currently seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and technically skilled Website & Graphic Design Specialist to support our corporate website and visual communications initiatives on a contract and as-needed basis.

Who You Are

You are a creative professional who combines strong graphic design expertise with technical web administration skills. You have an eye for visual storytelling, a passion for creating compelling designs, and the ability to translate ideas into engaging digital and print materials.

You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working on a variety of projects, from website updates and brand development to marketing materials, photography, and video content. You are highly organized, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple projects while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

You stay current with emerging design trends, digital marketing tools, and AI technologies, and you are always looking for innovative ways to improve communication, efficiency, and user experience.

About the Role

The Website & Graphic Design Specialist will support Keystone Environmental's online presence and visual brand through website administration, graphic design, photography, video production, and digital content creation.

This role is ideal for a versatile professional who can manage and update WordPress websites while producing high-quality visual assets that strengthen our brand identity across digital and print platforms. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams to ensure all communications are visually engaging, technically sound, and aligned with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Website Management (WordPress)

Maintain and update the company's WordPress website, ensuring functionality, performance, and security.
Upload, edit, and format website content, including blogs, case studies, team profiles, project highlights, and media updates.
Implement SEO best practices, including metadata, alt tags, page structure, and content optimization.
Troubleshoot and resolve website issues, plugin conflicts, and technical errors.
Design and develop new web pages and content layouts to support marketing and business development initiatives.
Ensure website content aligns with corporate branding, accessibility, and user experience standards.
Manage website backups, updates, plugins, and user access permissions.
Monitor website performance and recommend ongoing improvements.

Graphic Design & Visual Communications

Design and update marketing materials, presentations, reports, infographics, social media graphics, newsletters, event materials, and other branded content.
Create visually engaging digital and print assets that support corporate communications and business development efforts.
Develop and maintain brand templates, style guides, and visual assets to ensure consistency across all communications.
Collaborate with internal teams to transform concepts into effective visual designs.
Support the enhancement and modernization of existing design materials as needed.
Produce and edit photography and video content for websites, social media, and corporate presentations.
Incorporate innovative design tools and AI-powered technologies to improve creative workflows and communication effectiveness.

What You Bring

Proven experience managing and maintaining WordPress websites, including content updates, troubleshooting, and plugin management.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, with strong working knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro, Acrobat, and related design tools.
Strong graphic design skills, including layout design, typography, branding, and visual communication principles.
Photography and video production/editing experience, with the ability to create polished visual content for digital platforms.
Working knowledge of HTML and CSS, and an understanding of how they interact with WordPress themes and plugins.
Experience implementing SEO best practices and optimizing website content for search visibility.
Knowledge of AI-powered design, communication, and content creation tools, with the ability to identify practical applications that enhance business outcomes.
Minimum four years of relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Diploma or degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, Communications, Video Production, Marketing, or a related discipline.
Exceptional attention to detail, creativity, organization, and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Google Analytics and SEO reporting tools.
Familiarity with user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design principles.
Experience creating visual communications for environmental consulting, engineering, scientific, or professional services organizations.
Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices for web and digital communications.
Experience with email marketing platforms and social media content development.

Required Competencies

Creative thinker with exceptional design and problem-solving abilities.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Adaptable, resourceful, and proactive in identifying solutions.
Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Most importantly... a positive, creative, and collaborative attitude combined with a passion for delivering exceptional work.

Keystone Environmental offers a supportive, collaborative, and dynamic work environment and is seeking a creative partner who can help strengthen our digital presence and visual brand.

All interested and qualified candidates are encouraged to email their resume, portfolio, and cover letter in one PDF to jabear@keystoneenvironmental.ca, referencing "Website & Graphic Design Specialist" in the subject line.
