Original job description

WHAT YOU'LL DO

You'll play a key role in keeping our financial information accurate, timely, and meaningful. Working alongside the kick-ass Accounting team, you'll support month-end close activities, prepare reconciliations, analyze financial results, and help ensure our processes run smoothly.

You'll partner with departments across the business to provide reporting and insights, support accounting operations, and identify opportunities to improve systems and workflows. You'll be a trusted go-to for data accuracy, problem-solving, and helping transform numbers into actionable information.

Pretty sweet, right? Let's get into the details:

RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting Operations

Own the relationship with our outsourced accounting operations partner, helping ensure AP and AR activities run smoothly, accurately, and on time.
Monitor service levels, transaction quality, and process performance, making sure details don't slip through the cracks.
Investigate discrepancies, resolve issues, and coordinate with internal and external partners to keep work moving. Sometimes you're an analyst, sometimes you're a detective.
Support continuous improvement initiatives that reduce manual work and create a better experience for employees, customers, and vendors.
Maintain documentation, controls, and standard work that support accurate and efficient processes.

Month-End & Financial Reporting

Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
Prepare reconciliations, investigate variances, and help ensure financial information is accurate and complete.
Assist with financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation.
Review transaction activity and identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Keep records organized and audit-ready, because scrambling later isn't nearly as fun as it sounds.

Analysis & Business Support

Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports that help teams understand what's happening behind the numbers
Support budgeting and forecasting through data gathering, analysis, and reporting.
Monitor spending, working capital metrics, and financial performance, surfacing risks before they become surprises. Nobody likes surprise spreadsheets.
Partner with teams across the business to answer questions, solve problems, and support decision-making.
Build and improve reports, dashboards, and tools that make financial information easier to use and understand.

General

Learn the ins and outs of our systems, processes, and financial operations.
Build strong relationships across the business and with external partners. Great coffee runs on great partnerships.
Look for smarter, simpler ways of working and help turn good processes into great ones. Life's too short for spreadsheets doing things the hard way.
Support Finance projects, system enhancements, and process improvements as we continue to grow.

QUALIFICATIONS

2-4 years of accounting experience.
Accounting education or equivalent level work experience.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting.
Legally entitled to work in Canada.

WHAT WE VALUE - AND WHAT WE LOOK FOR

Do What’s Right. It’s not always neat and tidy. It means taking care of people, the planet and the business. No posturing, no greenwashing, just grown-up conversations and real accountability.

Speak up, even when it’s awkward. You’ve got the guts to say what needs saying and the grace to do it respectfully. We love a good truth bomb (delivered kindly).

Never Half-Ass It. We’re on a mission to annihilate mediocrity. It’s not about burning out - it’s about showing up, caring deeply, working smart, and taking our craft seriously (but not ourselves).

Prep like a pro. You know that thoughtful planning beats last-minute scrambling. Panic is not a strategy.

Cut the Bullshit. It’s about systems that work without waste, kindness without drama and root-cause thinking over quick fixes. No fluff, no fuss – just clarity, honesty and getting to the heart of things.

Build trust, not gossip chains. You talk to people, not about them. You show up and create a space where everyone can thrive.

Be Remarkable. We’re not here to play it safe or follow the crowd. We’re here to break patterns, defy expectations and drop a few jaws along the way. If it’s forgettable, it’s not for us.

Take initiative like it’s second nature. You spot opportunities to make things better and make it happen.

Do It All With Love. Love? Buck yeah, Love! It’s our not-so-secret ingredient. We care deeply about the work we do, the people we work with, and the impact we have. That love shows up in every cup – and journal entry.

Make space for joy. You believe laughter belongs at work. You bring good vibes, light moments and know that joy fuels great work.
