Original job description

The Kindred team is the heart of our cooperative, bringing our values to life every day. More than financial professionals, we are trusted guides, community builders, and champions of mutual aid. Our dedication ensures that every member experience is shaped by care, integrity, and expertise. Whether offering financial guidance or strengthening community connections, we embody what it means to connect values and faith with finances - working together to INSPIRE PEACEFUL, JUST, AND PROSPEROUS COMMUNITIES.

We are currently recruiting Member Services Representatives to fill two vacancies in our casual team.

Reporting to the Manager, Member Services Team, this opportunity offers a flexible schedule and is ideal for someone looking to contribute meaningfully while building a career in values-based banking. Whether you're exploring the credit union system for the first time or returning to work with a preference for work-life balance, this position provides a warm welcome into Kindred’s community.

As a mobile team member, you’ll be scheduled mostly in advance to support staffing needs across our branches, averaging approximately two to three days per week, with increased opportunities during vacation seasons. A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required, as this role involves travel to various branch locations, including Milverton, Elmira, New Hamburg, Kitchener, and Waterloo.

Member Service Representatives (MSRs) are the welcoming face of Kindred to members visiting our branches.

Key responsibilities:

Build relationships with members, asking thoughtful questions and listening to understand their financial needs
Deliver exemplary service by completing a variety of everyday financial transactions with accuracy and care
Refer members to specialized team members for advice and solutions tailored to their financial goals
Bring Kindred’s distinct offering of values-based products and services to members’ attention and help them find meaningful solutions
Guide members in using digital channels so they can bank with Kindred where, when, and how they prefer

What to bring:

You're a great fit for this opportunity if you're relational (you enjoy connecting with others), solution-focused (you’re curious about needs and committed to finding the right path forward), and energized by how Kindred’s unique approach to banking can create a positive impact in our communities.

You will be part of a collaborative workplace where you’ll be asked to participate in the business and share your voice. You’ll be expected to continually grow your skills and abilities and to share your expertise and experience with team members.

Plus, you bring your qualifications and experience:

A valid driver's license and reliable access to a vehicle
Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
Financial literacy or experience in banking (beneficial)
Some post-secondary education, ideally in business or accounting
Comfort with MS Office and a willingness to learn new systems
A sincere alignment with Kindred’s values and purpose

Why Kindred

We believe that your life is bigger than any job, so we’ll work together to achieve work-life quality and to care for your overall wellness. And of course, your rewards package includes competitive total compensation plus an array of financial products and services at preferred rates for staff.

Our comprehensive total rewards package includes:

Starting pay rate $23/hour
Health/Wellness Spending Account and staff wellness initiatives
Group Savings Plan with employer matching (5%)
Equivalent of 3 weeks vacation (pro-rated)
Career growth opportunities, training & development support
Comprehensive staff benefits on financial products & services

When you choose Kindred to further your career, you’re joining an engaged workforce at a certified B Corp™ that is committed to using business as a force for good™ and acting as an advocate for a Living Wage.
