Original job description

Kitchener Executive Consultants Inc. has partnered with an established manufacturing organization in Brantford, ON, in their search for an experienced Accountant / Full Charge Bookkeeper to assume responsibility for the day-to-day accounting activities and financial reporting of the manufacturing facility. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this is an opportunity for a detail-oriented and self-sufficient accounting professional to take ownership of the facility's accounting processes, ensuring financial accuracy, timely reporting, and effective coordination with Purchasing, Receiving, and Operations.

The Accountant will oversee the full accounting cycle, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, General Ledger reconciliations, and month-end closing activities. Key responsibilities will include preparing journal entries, accruals, prepayments, bank reconciliations, balance sheet schedules, and draft financial statements. Working closely with Operations, the Accountant will investigate inventory costing discrepancies, work-in-process (WIP) accounting, receiving cutoffs, and other manufacturing-related financial transactions. Additional responsibilities will include supplier account reconciliations, customer collections, payroll processing, statutory remittances, foreign currency reconciliations, and providing the Financial Controller with accurate cash flow information and timely identification of financial risks.

Beyond traditional bookkeeping responsibilities, the Accountant will play an important role in maintaining strong internal accounting controls, improving administrative efficiencies, and ensuring consistent financial processes across the organization. The Accountant will coordinate and review assigned accounting support activities, resolve transactional discrepancies, maintain documented procedures, and contribute to continuous improvements in financial reporting and ERP system utilization. Success in this position will require an individual who combines hands-on accounting expertise with strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the confidence to work independently while collaborating effectively with operational and financial stakeholders.

Our ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting or full charge bookkeeping experience, gained within a manufacturing or inventory-intensive environment. Strong knowledge of the complete accounting cycle, month-end close procedures, inventory accounting, payroll, and statutory reporting requirements is essential. Candidates will need to demonstrate advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and practical experience working within ERP-based accounting systems. Exposure to Epicor Kinetic will be considered a strong asset. A formal accounting education or related certification would be beneficial; however, a CPA designation is not required. Above all, our Client is seeking a dependable, analytical, and highly organized accounting professional who takes pride in accuracy, accountability, confidentiality, and consistently delivering reliable financial information.

Our Client’s preferred Salary Target is $70 000 - $85 000 and we encourage all applicants interested in this opportunity to apply. Please note, the hiring salary will be based on the selected candidate’s experience and ability to support the organization.

At Kitchener Executive Consultants Inc., we provide a bespoke and personalized recruitment experience where every candidate’s application is reviewed by our team of Search Consultants and measured to our clients’ specific hiring criteria and requirements. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not used in selecting a candidate within our detailed and professional recruitment process.
