Klipboard provides specialist software, services and support to deliver fully integrated trading and business management solutions to companies in the distributive trade – wherever they are in the world. The Business Development Representative is responsible for generating new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, effective qualification, and strong collaboration with Account Executives. This role requires excellent communication skills, commercial curiosity, resilience, and the ability to build productive relationships with prospective customers while consistently meeting agreed activity and performance targets.

Key Responsibilities

Uphold and reflect the company’s standards, values, and vision in all activities.
Contribute to a culture of performance, healthy competition, collaboration, and support.
Use company resources and assets responsibly and appropriately.
Represent the company brand professionally both during and outside business hours, maintaining high standards of customer care and peer support.
Achieve or exceed expected targets for securing new business opportunities.
Meet minimum daily KPI targets for call activity and talk time.
Manage inbound and outbound telephone calls with existing and prospective contacts to secure product demonstrations.
Achieve KPIs agreed with the Sales Director and report progress on a weekly or monthly basis, as required.
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with Account Executives.

Key Skills

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

Apply targeted prospecting strategies to initiate engagement with prospective customers.
Identify prospective customers’ needs, challenges, and commercial priorities.
Assess prospect interest and suitability for the company’s products and services.
Schedule discovery meetings between qualified prospects and Account Executives.
Consistently achieve agreed daily activity targets, including call volume and talk time.
Think quickly, respond professionally to objections, and apply effective problem-solving skills.

Required Qualifications

Excellent telephone, written communication, and active listening skills.
Self-motivated, with a strong desire to learn, develop, and succeed in the role.
Good understanding of business processes and organisational structures.
Interest in technical innovation and how it can help businesses improve performance.
A minimum of one year’s professional experience.
Ability to receive coaching, apply feedback, and demonstrate learning through performance.
Previous experience using Salesforce and other sales enablement tools.
