Job Description:
Client & Banking Technology team. This role offers significant influence over regional technology direction while contributing to global Capital Markets initiatives.
Client seeks an experienced Technology Technical architect to design application systems, define architecture patterns, modernize technology stacks, and serve as a trusted advisor to business and technology partners. Reporting to the Director of Architecture, you will oversee technical planning, execution of transformational projects that enhance internal operations and external client capabilities based on RBC systems and 3rd Party solutions to ensure business values are delivered.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Design & Architecture
- Develop architecture documentation and designs of system landscapes. Identify gaps between current and desired end-states
- Design application infrastructure including databases, programming languages, and testing approaches
- Manage data integrations across multiple systems and platforms
- Solve complex technical challenges and enterprise-wide platform requirements
- Evaluate new technologies and solutions for business benefits
Solution Implementation
- Lead detailed design of enterprise-level technology projects from inception to production. Supervise configuration, quality assurance, testing, and deployment
- Create prototypes and proofs of concept with colleagues and clients
- Demonstrate Box platform capabilities (security, compliance, AI, APIs) and show how solutions integrate into enterprise architecture.
- Design and architect AI-driven solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes and seamlessly integrate with existing systems.
- Bridge Box's Product, Platform, Security, and RBC technology teams and provide structured feedback to shape Box integration strategy
- Conduct technical discovery sessions, deliver custom demos, and guide customers through assessment of business and technical requirements.
- Create project scope documents, technical specs, statements of work, and reusable solution playbooks to enable consistent implementation across accounts.
- Able to work on 3rd party systems such as Box, document management solutions and data integrations
Team & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with support, and technology teams on system changes
- Mentor developers and technical professionals on best practices
- Provide technical direction and guidance to implementation teams
- Lead technical training for users and stakeholders
- Support IT governance and strategy alignment with business objectives
Must Have
Education & Communication
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
- Fluent English (written and verbal)
Experience
- 8–10 years designing and managing software projects with distributed computing, microservices, integrations in background
- 5–7 years in technology development in financial services
- Experience delivering large-scale data platforms and enterprise solutions
- Worked on 3rd Party systems and document management system experience
- Capital Markets or financial services industry experience
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of integration technologies, single sign-on, Enterprise Mobility Management, BYOK, Data Masking, Data Loss Prevention, and cloud solution architecture patterns
- Hands-on technical ability with programming languages including Python, TypeScript, Node.js, MongoDB, expertise in REST APIs, JSON, DevOps, and infrastructure considerations.
- Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, Linux, Windows
- Cloud architecture, microservices, and APIs
- Strong REST API and JSON knowledge with ability to handle technical questions
- Data integration tools and security best practices
- On-premises to cloud and cloud-to-cloud integration experience
Architecture & Design
- Ability to define system architectures and identify gaps between current and desired states
- Design scalable, performance-driven solutions handling large data volumes
- Data fabric/mesh concepts and data architecture principles
- Agile and Scrum methodology experience
- Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
