Original job description

Overview

At KPMG in Canada, our people bring their unique perspectives to Canada’s most important challenges. Here, you can build momentum that reaches beyond our business, develop skills for the future, and take ownership of your career with support at every stage. Join a firm where your career can make a difference.

Your work matters. As part of our Audit & Assurance practice, you’ll deliver high‑quality work that supports trust, transparency, and confidence across both public and private organizations. We foster an environment of high challenge, where curiosity and critical thinking are encouraged. Through high support, including progressive learning, strong coaching, inclusive teamwork, and a shared commitment to integrity, we perform at our best – measuring what matters, recognizing impact, and continuously evolving to deliver excellence. This creates a culture where the best work happens when high challenge and high support work together. That balance is how our values show up - in how we work, how we lead, and what we deliver

As a Resource Management Specialist – O&A Public Audit, you bring a passion for excellence, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to outstanding client service. You will support the GEO Resource Management Team, contribute to resource allocation and capacity planning, and help maintain strong relationships with Audit & Assurance leadership. You will also support forecasting and capacity analysis across hiring, attrition, promotions, and other workforce metrics to deliver data-driven insights that improve utilization.

What you will do

Support staffing and utilization efforts by preparing reports that enable the Resource Manager and other leaders (e.g., Performance Managers, Engagement Managers, Partners) to make informed staffing recommendations and decisions.

Report and analyze Resource Management metrics (e.g., utilization trends, capacity forecasting, variance) and present findings and recommendations in team meetings.

Design and maintain staffing dashboards and reporting tools to support ongoing operational management and planning.

Extract and consolidate reports and supporting data (e.g., utilization statistics, process compliance statistics) to inform operational decisions.

Work collaboratively with the management team to balance resource supply and client demand, including monitoring unit and individual progress toward goals.

Identify opportunities for staff development, such as growth in key industries and in-demand market skills.

Support documentation of System of Quality Management (SoQM) controls and monitor process and systems compliance for assigned resources, ensuring chargeable and non-chargeable time is accurately captured in the scheduling tool.

What you bring to the role

3+ years of experience in scheduling, Resource Management, project management, or operations management.

Strong computer skills, particularly MS Excel and PowerPoint (e.g., data entry and manipulation, downloading reports, and developing/running macros); experience with Power BI or resource forecasting tools is an asset.

Experience working in a professional services environment is an asset.

Ability to multi-task and manage multiple concurrent work streams.

Excellent business communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior management.

Ability to work and navigate effectively within a matrix organization/partnership structure.

A demonstrated track record of supporting behavioral or process change within a large organization.

KPMG Ontairo Pay Range Information
The expected base salary range for this position is $55,000 to $75,500 and may be eligible for bonus awards. KPMG in Canada is a proud equal opportunities employer and we are committed to creating a respectful, inclusive and barrier-free workplace that allows all of our people to reach their full potential. A diverse workforce is key to our success and we believe in bringing your whole self to work. We welcome all qualified candidates to apply and hope you will choose KPMG in Canada as your employer of choice.

Adjustments and accommodations throughout the recruitment process

At KPMG, we are committed to fostering an inclusive recruitment process where all candidates can be themselves and excel. We aim to provide a positive experience and are prepared to offer adjustments or accommodations to help you perform at your best. Adjustments (informal requests), such as extra preparation time or the option for micro breaks during interviews, and accommodations (formal requests), such as accessible communication supports or technology aids, are tailored to individual needs and role requirements. You will have an opportunity to request an adjustment or accommodation at any point throughout the recruitment process. If you require support, please contact KPMG’s Employee Relations Service team by calling 1-888-466-4778.

AI Usage

We embrace the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance the candidate experience and streamline our recruitment processes. AI tools may help with organizing applications or surfacing relevant qualifications. However, no hiring decisions are made using AI. Every hiring decision is made by our hiring managers and recruitment professionals, who are equipped with training that empowers them to use these tools responsibly. AI technologies used in our recruitment process undergo detailed risk assessments, including security and privacy requirements, that align with KPMG’s Trusted AI framework.

We believe technology should empower human judgment, not replace it. It’s one of the many ways we’re delivering on our vision of being a technology-first, people-driven firm.
