Job Description

Group Lead, Data Products & Architecture – Growth & R&D at a glance...

Location: Toronto, ON

Hybrid: 3 days/week

This role leads the Data Products & Architecture team for Kraft Heinz's Growth & R&D capabilities, spanning innovation, consumer & marketing analytics, and R&D/product development data. The role sets the architectural strategy and standards - including data models, semantic layer design, and integration patterns - that enable trusted, AI-ready data across Growth and R&D functions. It manages a team of data architects, oversees the domain’s Snowflake Semantic View and Cortex Agent adoption, and partners with senior stakeholders to translate business needs into a multi-year technical roadmap. Success means a unified, resilient data foundation that accelerates innovation and decision-making, directly advancing KHC’s broader goals of growth, operational excellence, and digital transformation.

What’s on the menu?

Own and evolve the Data Products & Architecture strategy, data lifecycle framework, and standards - covering ingestion, modelling, security, consumption, storage, and retention - for Growth & R&D.
Manage, mentor, and grow a team of data architects, including building out onshore and GCC (Bengaluru) capacity for the domain.
Establish architectural patterns and standards for enterprise data products and Snowflake Semantic Views, driving Cortex Agent and Cortex Analyst adoption for conversational and agentic analytics.
Define what “AI-ready” data means for Growth & R&D - setting the quality, governance, and metadata standards for GenAI, ML, and agentic consumption.
Oversee the design and delivery of data products across Growth (marketing, consumer insights, innovation) and R&D (product development, formulation, master data).
Interact with and influence senior stakeholders on strategic alignment, and manage ongoing stakeholder relationships across the domain and adjacent functions.
Lead architecture governance forums; review and approve major architectural decisions and data model deployments.
Oversee data source strategy, developing frameworks for collaboration between the architecture team and application/product owners.
Design and implement comprehensive lakehouse architecture, incorporating robust data access controls and security.
Partner with Enterprise Architects, Solution Architects, and peer Group Leads to keep Growth & R&D’s architecture consistent with enterprise-wide standards.
Provide solution design guidance and deployment approval to Data Engineering and BI Engineering teams during the build phase.
Champion adoption of innovative data solutions and emerging technologies, ensuring alignment with business needs and compliance.
Drive standards and best-practices documentation, contributing to the chapter-wide governance framework.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Advanced cloud certification (Azure Solutions Architect), CDMP data management certification, and Snowflake platform certification strongly preferred
8–12 years of experience in enterprise data architecture, including demonstrated experience leading and developing a team of data architects
Proven track record architecting and delivering enterprise-scale data products, including designing semantic models/Semantic Views for BI/AI initiatives
Strong background in cloud lakehouse technologies (e.g., Snowflake or comparable platforms), including Snowflake Cortex (Cortex Analyst, Cortex Search, Cortex Agents) or comparable conversational-AI/agent platforms, with a clear point of view on what makes data AI-ready
Working proficiency in SQL and Python, and familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI, sufficient to review team output and guide technical standards
Broad technical fluency across cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), batch and real-time data architectures, and major enterprise solutions in Growth and R&D functions (e.g., Trace One, Salesforce), sufficient to guide team technology decisions and standards
Working understanding of Data Governance principles and practices, including data quality, security, and compliance
Experience developing data architecture governance frameworks and vendor evaluation/selection
Deep understanding of business processes with strong analytical background; CPG domain expertise strongly preferred
Growth/Marketing and/or R&D domain experience a plus
Strong team leadership and development abilities, including experience building teams across onshore and offshore/GCC locations
Executive presence, communication, conflict resolution, and change management skills
Knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira & Confluence

New Hire Base Salary Range

$146,300.00 - $182,900.00

Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.

The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
