Kresin Engineering Corporation (KEC) is an established engineering firm located in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario providing multi-disciplined engineering services throughout Northern Ontario. KEC requires a qualified and enthusiastic candidate to join our team in the position of civil engineering technician/technologist. This is a permanent full-time position.
The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and be a team player supporting the delivery of civil engineering projects including roads and linear infrastructure, site development, water and sanitary sewage distribution, collection and pumping. The role provides the opportunity to work across a range of services including surveying, civil design and CAD, resident construction oversight and contract administration.
Qualifications:
- A post-secondary Civil Engineering Technician or Technologist diploma.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, AutoCAD, design software.
- Strong problem solving and multitasking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel within northern Ontario.
- Ability to work independently and as a team when required.
- Must have a valid Ontario driver’s license (G Class) in good standing.
Qualifications Considered Assets:
- Previous design, construction oversight and contract administration experience.
- Technical drawing and drafting experience with Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
- Experience in the consulting environment.
- Experience with technical report / design brief writing.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct fieldwork including surveying, layout, inspection and construction oversight.
- Provide resident construction oversight services.
- Operate total station, GPS and LiDAR surveying equipment.
- Create base plans, civil engineering designs and detailed drawings.
- Collaborate with teams of engineers, technicians and scientists to produce and deliver high quality deliverables.
- Prepare cost and quantity estimates, tender documents and specifications.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
