Position Overview

The Financial Analyst, Engineering Projects supports the financial management of Kruger's major industrial projects by ensuring rigorous oversight of costs, budgets, commitments, forecasts, and cash flow. The incumbent contributes to the preparation of reliable financial analyses, project reporting, variance monitoring, and the maintenance of financial information required to support decision-making by project teams, management, and internal and external stakeholders.

The incumbent plays an active role throughout the project financial cycle by supporting management and the Project Controller in the analysis, monitoring, and reconciliation of financial data. In this capacity, they contribute to the preparation of information required for project financial reporting, as well as the tracking of actual costs, hours, forecasts, commitments, and funding requirements. They also assist in preparing documentation required for audits, financial institutions, investors, funding agencies, and internal governance processes.

Acting as a financial partner to project teams, the Senior Financial Analyst, Engineering Projects ensures the accuracy, consistency, and traceability of financial data. The incumbent also contributes to the continuous improvement of project controls, tools, processes, and practices to support effective, consistent, and compliant governance in accordance with Kruger standards.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

This position reports to the Director of Finance, Major Projects.

Responsibilities

Prepare, analyze, and update project financial reports while ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of data.
Support the preparation of financial forecasts, cost projections, risk analyses, and information required for the financial statements of project entities.
Assist in the preparation of audit, compliance, and grant-related documentation required by project partners, including documentation related to government funding programs such as IFIT, SIF, NGen, and Technoclimat.
Monitor hours charged to various projects and cost categories in support of cost analysis, capitalization of eligible expenditures, and the preparation of reliable financial reports.
Maintain complete, structured, and traceable financial documentation, and contribute to the continuous improvement of project financial governance tools, reports, and processes.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
CPA designation, or progress toward obtaining a CPA designation, is considered a significant asset.

Experience

Five to eight years of relevant experience in financial analysis, investment finance, management accounting, auditing, or financial control, preferably in an industrial, engineering, or major construction environment.
Experience in managing budgets for major projects, including cost analysis, financial forecasting, commitment tracking, and the preparation of financial reports.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a strong understanding of ERP systems, particularly JD Edwards and SAP.

Skills And Competencies

Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at various levels and across functions.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in validating, interpreting, and presenting financial data.
Strong teamwork skills, initiative, professional judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a complex and evolving environment.

Language Requirements

Bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken.
