Original job description

It's more than a job

As a member of the Freight Forwarding team Kuehne+Nagel, you will play a key role in transporting goods, optimising processes, and fulfilling our customers' promises. And by transporting lumber, forestry, pulse & special crops, seafood, berries, pork, beef, and manufacturing, you are not only delivering goods, but also making small and big moments possible for people all around the world. At Kuehne+Nagel, our contribution counts in more ways than we imagine.

‎

As the National Sea Logistics Development Manager, Export, you will serve as Kuehne+Nagel Canada's subject matter expert for export ocean freight, driving the strategy, development, and growth of our national export program. This highly visible role sits at the intersection of sales, trade management, pricing, carrier partnerships, and customer engagement, with responsibility for identifying new opportunities, strengthening strategic relationships, and enhancing our position across Canada's export landscape. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will help shape the future of our export business while delivering exceptional value to customers and supporting sustainable commercial growth.

How you create impact

Develop and execute the national export growth strategy for Kuehne+Nagel Canada.
Serve as the organization's subject matter expert for export ocean freight and containerized cargo across Canadian markets.
Identify, evaluate, and pursue opportunities that drive export volume growth, profitability, and customer retention.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with ocean carriers, rail providers, customers, industry partners, and overseas stakeholders.
Partner with Sales, Pricing, Trade Management, and Customer Care teams to deliver competitive and innovative customer solutions.
Provide market intelligence, trade lane insights, and industry expertise to support business development initiatives and commercial decision-making.
Represent Kuehne+Nagel at customer meetings, industry events, and strategic business reviews to strengthen brand presence and market positioning.
Collaborate across the global network to align export initiatives and support sustainable long-term growth.
Drive a culture of customer excellence by helping customers navigate complex export supply chain challenges and opportunities.

What we would like you to bring

Extensive experience within Sea Logistics, Ocean Freight, International Transportation, or Global Supply Chain Management.
Deep knowledge of Canadian export markets, commodities, trade lanes, carrier networks, and intermodal transportation solutions.
A proven track record of driving business growth, developing export programs, and identifying new market opportunities.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand customer supply chains and develop value-driven solutions.
Established relationships with ocean carriers, transportation providers, customers, and industry stakeholders.
The ability to influence and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and senior leadership groups.
Strong presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills with confidence interacting at all levels of an organization.
A strategic mindset combined with the ability to translate market trends and industry developments into actionable business opportunities.
The credibility, expertise, and professional reputation to act as a trusted advisor internally and externally on all aspects of export logistics.
A passion for building relationships, creating innovative solutions, and contributing to the continued growth of Kuehne+Nagel's Sea Logistics business.

What's in it for you

At Kuehne+Nagel we strive daily to inspire, empower, and deliver not only to our customers, but also to our colleagues. We offer a dynamic global work environment with opportunities for excellent training programs and career mobility.

The target base salary range for this position is between CAD $110,000 and $140,000. Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and dental benefits, a retirement savings plan, and tuition reimbursement. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Kuehne+Nagel reviews pay ranges regularly to ensure competitive and fair pay based on industry market data.

Who we are

Logistics shapes everyday life - from the goods we consume to the healthcare we rely on. At Kuehne+Nagel, your work goes beyond logistics; it enables both ordinary and special moments in the lives of people around the world.

As a global leader with a strong heritage and a vision to move the world forward, we offer a safe, stable environment where your career can make a real difference. Whether we help deliver life-saving medicines, develop sustainable transportation solutions or support our local communities, your career will contribute to more than you can imagine.
