Role Description The Accounts Payable Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Georgetown, ON. This position is responsible for processing vendor invoices, matching purchase orders, and preparing payments in a timely and accurate manner. Day-to-day tasks include verifying and reconciling expense reports, coding and posting journal entries, and maintaining up-to-date records in the accounting system. The specialist will communicate with vendors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies, support month-end close activities, and assist with reporting and documentation for audits. The role requires consistent attention to detail, adherence to financial policies, and collaboration with the finance team to ensure efficient accounts payable operations.

Qualifications

Strong accounting and finance skills, including knowledge of Accounts Payable processes and basic General Ledger Accounting.
Experience with journal entries and expense reports, including accurate coding, posting, and reconciliation.
Demonstrated analytical skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies, solve problems, and improve processes.
Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office (especially Excel); experience with ERP systems is an asset.
Relevant education in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (diploma or degree preferred).
Ability to work on-site in Georgetown, ON, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines with high accuracy.
Strong communication and organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and compliance.
Previous experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role in a multi-division or logistics-related environment is an advantage.
