Role Description The Director of Transportation is a full-time, on-site role based in Georgetown, ON. This role oversees all transportation operations, including fleet utilization, routing, scheduling, and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. The Director leads and mentors transportation teams, sets performance expectations, and ensures service levels meet customer commitments. Daily responsibilities include monitoring KPIs, optimizing transportation planning and costs, coordinating with other divisions, resolving operational issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The role collaborates closely with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to maintain high service standards and support strategic growth.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Transportation Planning and Transportation Management to design efficient, safe, and compliant operations.
• Proven experience in Fleet Management to oversee vehicle utilization, maintenance, and lifecycle optimization.
• Demonstrated commitment to Customer Service, with the ability to build relationships and resolve service issues promptly.
• Solid Budgeting skills to manage transportation costs, forecast expenses, and support financial decision-making.
• Leadership experience in a transportation or logistics environment, including team management and coaching.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements, safety standards, and industry best practices in North American trucking.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with proficiency in transportation management systems and related software.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally across multiple business units.
• Post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
• Experience in multi-division or diversified logistics organizations is an asset.
