Client: Financial Sector
Location: Toronto (Hybrid) - 3 days onsite per week
Duration: 5 months contract with potential extensions

Our financial sector client requires the services of an AWS Cloud Engineer Team Lead to support the Cloud Platform and Product Components
This is an operations-focused leadership role centered on operational efficiency, incident and escalation management, stakeholder engagement, cloud FinOps practices, and people leadership to deliver a consistently high-quality user experience
- 10+ years of experience in Infrastructure and AWS Cloud Engineering
- Support Cloud Platform and Product Components
- Ability to lead troubleshooting, issue investigation, and resolution
- Technical strength to lead Cloud Operations team activities and member,s and escalation support.
- Strong knowledge of Service Management and ITSM processes
- Regularly Peer Review code (limited to AWS Tech Stack) for accuracy and best practices, operational stability
- Ensure strong cloud security and cost management controls are maintained
Skills:
- 10+ years of infrastructure experience
- 5+ years of experience on engineering AWS infra with relevant services: IAM, EC2, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, KMS, VPC, Cognito, Config, SCP, CloudTrail, VPC Endpoint, Quick Suite.
- Demonstrated expertise using Terraform to design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge on AWS networking services such as Transit Gateway, Route 53, firewall
- AWS Certified Solution Architect Professional level certification - Nice to Have
- Knowledge Across Cloud Security Practices and Tools, Architecture, FinOps and Cost Governance
- Lead continued improvement efforts for operational efficiency and improvement

Responsibilities
Lead AWS Cloud Operations team activities, troubleshooting, issue investigation, resolution, and escalation support for cloud platform and product components. Improve operational efficiency and user experience while maintaining cloud security and cost controls, engaging stakeholders, and peer-reviewing AWS code.
Requirements
Requires 10+ years of infrastructure experience and 5+ years engineering AWS infrastructure, including services such as IAM, EC2, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, KMS, and VPC. Candidates need demonstrated Terraform expertise, AWS networking knowledge, ITSM and cloud security awareness, and operational leadership experience; an AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional certification is a nice-to-have.
