Role Posting: Development Coordinator

Position: Development Coordinator	Location: L’Arche London
Start: October 2026	Salary: 26.54/hour
Contracted hours: 35-37.5 hours/week	Responsible to: Community Leader

L’Arche London is seeking a dedicated individual to be its Development Coordinator. The person in this role supports the development and implementation of L’Arche London’s annual fundraising plan to strengthen financial sustainability and donor engagement. Duties include managing fundraising initiatives, writing grant applications, managing grant oversight and reporting, managing donor stewardship, creating communications, managing public relations, and performing community outreach. The Development Coordinator reports to the Community Leader.

Location

L’Arche London is a dynamic, diverse, and vibrant community. We have three homes and our Gathering Place in Lambeth. We offer a variety of recreational, therapeutic, vocational, and adult education day and evening programs to Live-In and Live-Out Core Members at the Gathering Place, and other satellite locations.

Key Responsibilities

Build meaningful relationships with donors, partners, and community stakeholders, ensuring they feel valued, informed, and connected to the mission of L’Arche.
Support fundraising and donor stewardship through campaigns, events, donor recognition, communications, and ongoing engagement activities.
Manage donor information and maintain accurate records to support effective donor relations, recognition, and retention.
Lead grant support activities, including researching opportunities, preparing applications, and coordinating reporting and follow-up.
Help create and coordinate engaging communications that share L’Arche London’s mission and impact, including newsletters, annual reports, campaign materials, social media, and other print and digital content.
Share the L’Arche story by gathering stories, photos, and other content that communicate the impact of the community and its mission.
Support community outreach and donor engagement through social media, events, partner relationships, and collaboration with future growth campaign committees.
Provide strong administrative and organizational support for the community’s fundraising activities.
Work collaboratively as part of the team, communicating effectively, maintaining confidentiality, and contributing to a respectful and welcoming community.
Uphold the Identity and Mission of L’Arche, including its Charter, policies, traditions, and practices.

Qualifications:

Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, public relations, fundraising, or a related field, with 2+ years of relevant experience, preferably in the non-profit sector.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including editing and proofreading.
Excellent organizational, administrative, and project coordination skills with strong attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), digital communication tools, and social media platforms.
Experience using or learning CRM/database systems (e.g. DonorPerfect).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
Self-motivated, collaborative, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Professional judgment and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
Commitment to the mission and values of L’Arche.
Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.
Successful completion of a police record check, including vulnerable sector screening.
Valid Class G driver's licence in good standing
