Role Posting: Office Administrator

Position: Office Administrator	Location: L’Arche London
Start: October 2026	Salary: $20.23- $22.42/hour based on experience
Contracted hours: 35-37.5 hours/week	Responsible to: Community Leader

L’Arche London is seeking an energetic and organized Office Administrator to coordinate the day-to-day operations of our main office, ensuring efficient administrative functions, office systems, and support services. The successful candidate will bring strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and a desire to support the Identity and Mission of L’Arche. This role reports to the Community Leader.

Location

L’Arche London is a dynamic, diverse, and vibrant community. We have three homes and our Gathering Place in Lambeth. We offer a variety of recreational, therapeutic, vocational and adult education day and evening programs to Live-In and Live-Out Core Members at the Gathering Place, and other satellite locations.

Key Responsibilities

Understand and uphold the Identity and Mission of L’Arche, including its core values, traditions, policies, and procedures, while contributing to a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive community, and maintaining confidentiality as required.
Support the smooth, welcoming, and effective day-to-day administrative and reception operations of L’Arche London.
Provide administrative support to Leadership and Coordinating Teams including meeting coordination, documentation, records, and organizational projects.
Coordinate facility and room rentals, scheduling, building access, and general facility-related needs.
Maintain organized office systems, records, files, mail, supplies, equipment, and other administrative resources.
Provide basic IT support and coordination, including liaison with IT service provider and support for telephone, copier, and other office systems and equipment.
Support organizational communications, including phone and email correspondence, weekly online communications, website updates, newsletters, and other communications materials.
Support HR department to maintain organizational, training, certification, and compliance records and provide administrative support for organizational requirements.
Build positive and professional relationships with Core Members, Support Staff, volunteers, families, vendors, community partners, and other stakeholders.
Demonstrate initiative, organization, flexibility, discretion, and sound judgment while managing competing priorities and responding to the changing needs of the community.
Identify operational needs and opportunities for improvement and communicate recommendations to Leadership.
Participate in meetings, training, professional development, and other activities that support effective performance in the role.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission and effective operation of L’Arche London.

Qualifications:

Post-secondary education and relevant experience in a not-for-profit environment
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as social media platforms
Collaborative, strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills;
Ability to multi-task and work independently;
Self-motivated and team-oriented,
Ability to work in a high-volume environment and adhere to strict deadlines;
Good judgment in dealing with sensitive and confidential information in a diplomatic, professional and tactful manner;
High level of attention to detail, and well developed organizational and prioritization skills;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Fluent in spoken and written English
Clear police check including vulnerable sector screening.
Valid G class Driver’s license in good standing
