We are hiring  experienced Mould Maker to join our team!

L-D Tool & Die is seeking skilled and motivated Mould Makers to join our team in Stittsville, Ontario. The successful candidates will have strong hands-on experience in plastic injection mould making, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and mould assembly.

Position Details

• Number of Positions: 1
• Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
• Location: 139 Iber Road, Stittsville, ON K2S 1E7
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Schedule: 8-hour shifts, with overtime and weekend availability as required. Shifts may include mornings, days, evenings, or nights.
• Compensation: Competitive wages based on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspection, repair, and reassembly of plastic injection moulds and hot runner systems.
• Diagnose mould issues and carry out repairs to ensure reliable performance and minimize production downtime.
• Manufacture and modify mould inserts, components, fixtures, and tooling using conventional and CNC toolroom equipment, including milling, turning, grinding, and EDM.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D CAD models to manufacture and modify tooling components.
• Fit, assemble, troubleshoot, and test moulds to ensure proper operation and quality.
• Support production teams in resolving mould-related issues and maintaining product quality.
• Operate overhead cranes and other toolroom equipment safely.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 5S practices and company safety requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in plastic injection mould making and mould maintenance.
• Proficiency in operating common toolroom machinery safely and efficiently.
• Strong knowledge of mould repair, troubleshooting, fitting, and assembly.
• Experience with preventive maintenance systems and hot runner technologies is preferred.
• Familiarity with valve gate systems is an asset.
• Previous injection moulding production experience is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail, technical problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good English communication skills.
