As a subsidiary of L3Harris Technologies and within the Integrated Mission Systems Segment, the WESCAM division develops the most advanced optical sensor and targeting systems for global defense and military sectors, National Security, Search & Rescue and Airborne law enforcement agencies. From long-range covert surveillance missions to search and rescue operations, our MX-series systems, and the mission systems solutions they are a part of, produce stabilized high-magnification electro1-optical and infrared images from airborne, marine and ground based platforms, enabling our customers to see first and act first.

About the Role

This 16 month co-op role supports the manager of Infrastructure & Security for Canada by providing provide direct embedded support services within our Engineering department services at the WESCAM division. The successful candidate will be a talented and motivated Linux Administrator with exceptional customer service skills, is adept at managing and coordinating diverse support demands, and drives towards efficiency and continuous improvement for their customers.

Responsibilities:

Endpoint Management: Maintain and support Linux endpoints, ensuring optimal performance and security.
Automation with Ansible: Develop and manage Ansible playbooks for configuration management and automation tasks.
Containerization with Docker: Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Docker containers to support various applications and services.
Atlassian Support: Provide support and administration for Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket), ensuring smooth operation and user satisfaction.
Upgrade Projects: Plan, execute, and manage small upgrade projects, ensuring minimal disruption and efficient implementation.
Customer Support: Provide excellent customer support, addressing technical issues, and resolving user inquiries promptly and effectively.
Communication: Communicate effectively with team members and customers, providing clear and concise updates and documentation.

Requirements:

Proficiency in Linux endpoint management.
Strong experience with Ansible for automation and configuration management.
Solid knowledge of Docker for containerization.
Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
Proven ability to manage small upgrade projects from planning to execution.
Excellent customer support and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCSA, RHCE) are a plus.

Qualifications:

Must be able to complete a 16 month Co-Op term starting May 2026
Currently enrolled and in good standing with co-op program through accredited university
Able to obtain Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP)
Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Strong understanding of Linux operating systems, command-line tools, and configuration automation tools (Ansible).
Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols.
Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) is a plus.
Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices is desirable.
