Original job description

Lambert Nemec Group has partnered with our client, a local manufacturing organization to recruit a dynamic, hands-on Human Resources Manager.

Reporting to the CEO, the HR Manager serves as the primary human resources leader across multi-province facility locations. This role is responsible for overseeing end-to-end HR operations, driving strategic organizational development, maintaining legal compliance, and fostering a positive, performance-driven workplace culture.

This opportunity is ideal for a collaborative HR leader with a strong background in manufacturing or processing environments who excels at balancing high-level strategic advisory with day-to-day operational execution.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leadership to provide workforce guidance, refine organizational systems, and lead employee engagement and wellness initiatives across all operating locations.
  • Provide coaching and conflict resolution for leaders and staff, conduct workplace investigations, manage disciplinary processes, and oversee leaves of absence and return-to-work programs.
  • Manage, update, and implement company policies, employee handbooks, and provincial employment law compliance across multi-jurisdictional operations.
  • Oversee full-cycle recruitment, assist managers with workforce planning and job descriptions, and deliver structured onboarding programs.
  • Lead annual performance management cycles, administer group benefits and retirement programs, manage job classifications and market salary reviews, and oversee employee rewards programs.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources or a related discipline; CPHR designation is preferred.
  • 7-10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably within manufacturing, processing, or multi-site distribution environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment standards, privacy laws, and occupational health and safety across Canadian provinces.
  • Experience managing HRIS platforms and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (intermediate to advanced Excel required).
  • Exceptional communication, mediation, and relationship-building skills with a proven ability to build trust across all levels of an organization.
  • Strong project management, time management, and problem-solving skills with the flexibility to handle changing priorities and occasional regional travel.

Rewards & Benefits

  • Competitive salary of $95,000-$110,000, based on experience.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and wellness coverage.
  • Retirement savings and company-matched pension plan.
  • Collaborative culture with employee appreciation programs and professional growth opportunities.
