Territory Manager
Position Overview:
Lambert Nemec Group is partnering with a respected organization in their search for a Territory Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven sales professional who enjoys winning new business, developing customer relationships, and turning untapped market potential into revenue. You will represent an established consumer brand with a growing North American presence, balancing existing account growth with a strong focus on acquiring new customers. With an expanding U.S. market and an evolving internal sales team, you will have the opportunity to help shape the organization's next stage of growth while building a successful and rewarding sales territory. Based in Winnipeg, this position combines time in the office with regular travel throughout the United States and select Canadian markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a territory sales plan focused on revenue growth, market expansion, and new customer acquisition.
- Proactively identify prospective retail partners and convert new business opportunities into lasting commercial relationships.
- Establish a consistent pipeline of new accounts, targeting approximately 8 to 10 meaningful new customer relationships per month, with expectations adjusted for account size and territory potential.
- Manage and expand an established portfolio of wholesale customers through regular communication, product presentations, and strategic account planning.
- Present seasonal collections, product features, and commercial opportunities to retail buyers in a way that supports purchasing decisions and long-term account growth.
- Review sales performance, ordering patterns, inventory levels, and replenishment opportunities to identify ways to increase revenue and improve account productivity.
- Represent the organization at industry trade shows, market appointments, customer meetings, and showroom events across Canada and the United States.
- Work collaboratively with internal sales, marketing, product development, planning, customer service, and operations teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of sales experience, ideally in wholesale, consumer products, retail distribution, or a related B2B sales environment.
- Demonstrated success in prospecting, winning new accounts, and expanding existing customer relationships.
- A strong hunter mentality, with the motivation to build a pipeline and pursue opportunities rather than rely primarily on an established book of business.
- Experience managing a sales territory and working toward revenue targets, with the ability to identify and prioritize opportunities that offer meaningful commercial value.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to work with digital sales tools and business-to-business ordering platforms.
- A valid driver's licence, access to a reliable vehicle, a valid passport, and the ability to travel internationally.
- Willingness to travel approximately 5 to 8 days per month, primarily throughout the United States, with additional travel based on customer and market needs.
- Ability to work from the organization's Winnipeg office when not travelling.
Rewards:
- Base salary of $65,000 to $75,000, depending on experience, plus commission tied to shipped net sales.
- Group benefits through Blue Cross
- Employee share-option program.
- Three weeks of paid vacation
- Five paid sick days, one personal day, and 20 hours of paid volunteer time annually.
- The opportunity to contribute to the North American expansion of an established Canadian business as it strengthens its sales capabilities and pursues new growth opportunities.
