1.0 Description of Assignment:
Toronto Water is continuously improving its operations and use of technologies to meet business needs including legislative requirements. In order to facilitate these changes and evaluate best options, the Toronto Water ITM (Integrated Technology Management) unit requires an experienced Software AG webMethods Specialist who will develop and build integrations and assist with infrastructure improvements. webMethods Integration Specialist is currently required. The proponent will work on application software projects for its Toronto Water clients and stakeholders. A well-rounded specialist with experience in both webMethods development and infrastructure knowledge is sought. There are several initiatives already in queue that require the webMethods Specialist. This resource will report to a Senior Systems Integrator for Application Support within Toronto Water ITM and will also receive direction from other team members as assigned by the Senior Systems Integrator.
2.0 Assignment Duties:
The System Integrator - webMethods Integration Specialist is responsible for:
- TW Maximo initiative required data integration between ServiceNow (311) Service Requests, Field Services for Trimble Unity and business applications in the Toronto Water Application Environment.
- Work with TW Resources to move all Work Management data integrations to utilize Maximo data source.
- Review the WebMethods infrastructure, make recommendations and implement those recommendations where possible within the timeframe of the specialist's engagement.
- Rearchitect and design of a new WebMethods Architecture for High Availability.
- The resource may be required to design and develop new WebMethods related integrations as they arise. This can include refactoring existing point to point integrations that would be better architected using the WebMethods application integration platform.
- Provide input and assist with standards and process changes that relate to the above work.
- Provide knowledge transfer to staff resources for the above work.
3.0 Qualifications:
- University/Community College degree in Computer Science / Computer Programming or equivalent a definite asset. Software AG WebMethods certifications an asset.
- Extensive experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise integration solutions using IBM WebMethods.
Demonstrated expert-level proficiency with the WebMethods platform, including Integration Server, Designer, Trading Networks, API Gateway, and Universal Messaging.
- Extensive experience with integrating with Salesforce, IBM Maximo, and Microsoft technologies to other enterprise applications.
- Extensive experience developing and supporting enterprise integrations utilizing REST and SOAP Web Services, XML, XSLT, JSON, Java, JDBC, JNDI, LDAP, J2EE, SSL certificates, authentication frameworks, and Oracle databases.
Strong understanding of API development, service-oriented architecture (SOA), and enterprise integration patterns is required.
- Extensive experience administering and supporting WebMethods infrastructure across development, test, and production environments, including installation, configuration, upgrades, performance tuning, troubleshooting, security management, and platform monitoring. Comparable middleware or Windows-based enterprise application administration experience will also be considered.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with demonstrated ability to facilitate requirements gathering sessions, lead technical discussions, document solution designs, and communicate effectively with both technical and business audiences.
4.0 Deliverables:
- Artifacts as per the assignment duties outlined in 3.0 including code, configure systems, documentation, or other artifacts.
- Implement data integration with Maximo to other Toronto Water enterprise solutions.
- Rearchitect IBM WebMethods solution for redundancy and high availability.
- Documentation to assist with knowledge transfer to staff resources.
- Other deliverables associated with the assignment duties.
- Regular status reports.
