Review drawings, specifications, tender documents, addenda and site conditions to establish scope and identify gaps and risks.
Develop and review quantity takeoffs, labour and equipment productivity, material costs, subcontractor pricing, indirect costs and contingencies.
Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations for scope coverage, exclusions, qualifications and commercial risks.
Work with project and construction leaders to validate methods, sequencing, access, resources, schedules and constructability.
Support bid or no-bid decisions and present pricing, assumptions, exclusions and risks for approval within delegated authority.
Ensure tender requirements are met and complete, approved submissions are delivered on time.
Lead handovers of successful bids, clearly communicating budgets, scope, quotations, assumptions and risks to project teams.
Maintain estimating tools, cost databases and production-rate information; use project results and bid feedback to improve future estimates.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Ideally eight or more years of progressive construction estimating experience, including responsibility for complete civil or infrastructure bids.
Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring or reviewing the work of other estimators.
Practical knowledge of civil construction methods, sequencing, equipment, crews, productivity and constructability.
Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications and contract requirements, prepare detailed estimates and assess commercial risks.
