POSTING DETAILS

  • Position: Central Resource Teacher - 1.0 FTE
  • Hours: Full time
  • Employment: Permanent

Required Qualifications

  • ABachelor of Education degree or equivalent training
  • Two years of successful teaching experience in regular programs
  • Diploma in Special Education or equivalent with 30 credits of course work in the following areas: learning disabilities, behaviour difficulties, intellectual disabilities, assessment, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder
  • Experience in IEP development, implementation and monitoring
  • Demonstrated ability in effective communication and consultation
  • Or equivalent training, or experience

  • Copy of BC Teacher Regulation Branch Certificate and/or TQS card or information on current status

Responsibilities

Provide central resource teaching support at a district-assigned location. Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs, and communicate and consult effectively with relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor of Education degree or equivalent training, two years of successful teaching experience in regular programs, and a Special Education diploma or equivalent with 30 credits in specified areas. Candidates must also have experience with Individualized Education Programs and demonstrate effective communication and consultation skills, or have equivalent training or experience.
