Business Development Executive, GitHub

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Business Development Executive to drive growth across our GitHub and developer productivity services portfolio - including GitHub Copilot enablement, GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS), and enterprise platform modernization. This role is responsible for both opening new accounts and expanding existing client relationships by selling our digital studio’s professional. You’ll collaborate closely with our client solutions team and GitHub to craft innovative, differentiated solutions that help clients transform software delivery, enhance developer productivity, and gain competitive advantage through AI, DevOps, and modern engineering practices. The ideal candidate is a consultative seller with a deep understanding of GitHub’s platform, credibility with engineering leaders, and a passion for building strong, strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

Identify and qualify new business opportunities related to GitHub and developer productivity within both new and existing enterprise accounts.
Build and nurture trusted relationships with engineering and platform leaders to understand their challenges and align solutions across our GitHub-focused offerings.
Partner with GitHub and Microsoft field sellers to co-sell solutions that:
Accelerate developer productivity with GitHub Copilot and AI enablement
Migrate legacy tools (ADO, GitLab, Bitbucket) to GitHub
Implement GitHub Advanced Security (GHAS)
Improve developer experience through InnerSource, automation, and platform engineering
Collaborate with client solutions and delivery teams to develop compelling, differentiated proposals.
Develop and execute territory and account plans to drive long-term, profitable client relationships.
Work with Go-to-Market and Alliance teams to launch and execute sales campaigns and strategic initiatives.
Build and manage a robust sales pipeline, forecast revenue, and close deals to meet or exceed sales targets.
Ensure a high-quality client experience through regular communication and continuous improvement.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in the Microsoft partner ecosystem; existing relationships with Microsoft and GitHub preferred.
Proven success selling cloud-native consulting services, including DevOps, platform engineering, and AI productivity solutions.
Deep familiarity with GitHub’s platform (Copilot, GHAS, Actions, enterprise adoption, and security).
Ability to engage credibly with technical stakeholders (CTOs, VPs of Engineering, DevOps/Platform leaders).
Strong commercial acumen with experience negotiating contracts and structuring profitable deals.
Understanding of consulting and managed services pricing models and deal structures.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building long-term client partnerships.
Collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced, partner-first environment.
