Role Description

Lanworks Inc is a full-service technology organization specializing in architecting, installing, and managing cutting edge LAN/WAN Infrastructure, Network Security, Network Management and Microsoft Enterprise solutions.

Currently, Lanworks has an opening for an Intermediate to Senior Network Systems Engineer who will help us in delivering advanced networking solutions and consulting services to clients while providing the highest quality customer service.

Responsibilities

• Manage our network infrastructure, including cloud-based products from Microsoft Azure/Entra and Juniper Mist, and locally managed infrastructure from HPE Networking/Juniper, Palo Alto, and Fortinet.
• Design and implement network infrastructure and security solutions.
• Provide technical support for LAN, WAN, and security solutions (mainly based on HPE Networking/Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto product lines) in large/medium size environments.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex customer technical support problems.
• Provide maintenance and administration for in-house systems.

Qualifications

• As a Network Systems Engineer with 4-5+ years of experience, you have a solid background and understanding of networking including subnetting, dynamic routing protocols, EVPN-VXLAN, best-practice based network architectures, network security and wireless.
• You possess a true passion for technology and a desire to learn.
• You have a university or college degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• You have hands-on experience configuring switches/routers from one or more of HPE Networking/Juniper, Fortinet, HPE/Aruba and Cisco, firewalls from Palo Alto, Fortinet and HPE Networking/Juniper, and APs from HPE/Aruba, Juniper Mist, and Fortinet.
• Strong history of obtaining and maintaining IT related Certifications is an asset, specifically Fortinet and/or HPE Networking/Juniper certifications.
• You have worked with or developed IT centric processes and procedures.
• You are a very organized and structured person with good communication skills both written and verbal.
• You work well both independently and in a team.
• A background or experience in Managed Services is an asset.
• Valid Driver’s license and a car are required.
