I. IDENTIFICATION

LOCATION: Delta, British Columbia, Canada

JOB TITLE: Quality Control Supervisor

FAMILY: Quality

II. ROLE

The Quality Control Supervisor oversees inspection and calibration activities, the training and performance of Inspectors, and coordination between Inspections, Production and Quality Engineering. The expected salary range for this position is $85,000–$95,000 per year. Placement within the range will be determined based on the successful candidate’s qualifications, experience, and other job-related factors.

III. MISSIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

INSPECTION AND CALIBRATION OPERATIONS

Ensure Inspection operations are conducted in accordance with the manufacturing plans.
Act as liaison between Inspections, Production and Quality Engineering to settle differences and enforce required standards.
Provide supervision to Calibrations Dept. and ensure calibration processes are followed as per set requirements.
Communicate any changes to the QC processes that are impacting the Inspections and calibrations.

TEAM DEVELOPMENT AND QUALITY IMPROVEMENT

Manage training, competency, and performance of direct reports (Inspectors) to ensure personnel have the skills and knowledge to perform their assigned scopes of work.
Work with Training Dept. to ensure competencies are developed and managed so that single points of failure are avoided.
Support Quality by contributing to QC related root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
Initiate ideas for QC improvements and follow up as needed.

IV. SAFETY, COMPLIANCE & GOVERNANCE

Ensure inspection processes are performed in accordance with internal, customer and regulatory requirements.

Inspection turnaround and backlog
Inspection quality
Calibration compliance
Inspection documentation accuracy
Inspector competency and coverage
Corrective-action effectiveness
Audit findings closure
Continuous improvement results

VI. AUTHORITY

Approve direct reports work hours, planned time off and unplanned absences in UKG Pro.
Conduct interviews of applicants for new Inspector positions. Provide feedback to Director, Operations and Quality Assurance Manager for their final decision.

VII. DECISION MAKING RESPONSIBILITIES

As required allocate competent Inspectors to accommodate changes to production schedules or disruption of planned resourcing.

VIII. REQUIREMENTS

The candidate should have strong leadership skills and experience in a supervisory role. Supervision in a union and regulatory environment are assets.
Very strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for this position.
The ability to work within a team and perform effective conflict resolution are required.
Degree/Diploma in manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, quality or other relevant discipline or equivalent experience are required.
Proficiency with computer software applications, including word processing and spreadsheets is required.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and judgement and ability to work with teams to develop solutions is necessary.
Ability to undergo security clearance process for export controls: CGP, ITAR.
Must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
