We’re seeking a Surveyor to join our team and support the successful delivery of our ICI construction projects. This role will provide accurate surveying and construction layout support in the field, while working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, consultants, and our Digital Construction team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically capable, and confident working in a fast-paced construction environment where accuracy, collaboration, and safety are essential.

Your Impact at LAURIN
As a Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our ICI projects are built accurately and efficiently. Your expertise will support precise construction layout, quality control, and coordination across project teams, helping keep projects on track from design through completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform construction layout, verification, and as-built surveys to support the accurate execution of ICI construction projects.
- Establish and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, building grids, elevations, and reference points throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and mechanical drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure accurate field layout and identify discrepancies.
- Provide accurate construction layout and surveying to support the proper positioning and installation of building components in accordance with project drawings and specifications.
- Operate and maintain total stations, laser levels, and other surveying equipment to collect and verify field data.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, consultants, forepersons, and subcontractors to resolve drawing conflicts, discrepancies, and field conditions.
- Verify completed work against approved drawings, specifications, elevations, and design requirements, supporting project quality control.
- Maintain accurate field notes, survey records, calculations, sketches, and as-built documentation, and support the Digital Construction team with survey data and digital project deliverables.
Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of surveying experience, preferably within ICI construction.
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Proficiency with total stations, GPS/GNSS, and laser levels.
- Experience preparing and interpreting as-built information and field documentation.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and BIM software, including Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360, and MS Project.
- Experience using digital construction tools and platforms to support surveying, coordination, project documentation, and field-to-model workflows is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams and trades.
Education & Professional Credentials
- Diploma or degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant construction surveying experience may be considered.
- Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) designation considered an asset.
Eligibility & Security Requirements
At LAURIN, many of our projects require specific employment and security conditions. To be considered, candidates must:
- Be legally authorized to work in Canada. Please note that LAURIN does not provide or assume sponsorship for work permits or visas.
- Be eligible to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Reliability Status security clearance (Secret clearance is considered an asset).
- Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of authorization to work in Canada (e.g., valid work permit or Social Insurance Number). All offers of employment are conditional upon obtaining the required security clearance.
Estimated Compensation
The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $100,000 based on experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed in your personalized offer.
