This is an onsite role

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Labour Relations Corporate Initiatives, you will support to the Labour Relations leadership team by conducting a variety of research, data analysis and special projects to support strategic decisions on policy, collective agreement proposals, administration and interpretation, grievances, arbitrations and workplace issues.

About the Role

Monitor and prioritize grievance and arbitration files
Conduct analysis of grievances and arbitrations to assess financial and reputational risk real time feedback on emerging trends, priority areas of focus, etc.
Support client advisory to ensure the team is fully prepared for arbitration and med-arb processes
Ensure appropriate processes to improve and sustain integrity/reliability of labour relations data. Provide real time grievance analytics (by region, themes, business lines, etc.) to enable labour relations and leaders to respond as required
Manage all reporting obligations under collective bargaining agreement to ensure compliance and a single source of truth and methodology
Manage the data collection and preparation related to the attendance management program
Review, summarize and analyze relevant collective agreements
Benchmark compensation and collective agreement provisions externally, using research into industry best practices
Predictive analysis of union communications, campaigns and actions leading into and during the bargaining process
Root cause analysis of grievance trends to inform bargaining proposals and mandates Support for, and qualitative analysis of, in-person and survey-based consultations led by corporate Initiatives to inform bargaining proposals and mandate
Costing and analysis of proposals, both at the bargain table and to inform strategy and mandate
Fact checking of union claims to inform communications strategy
Analysis of data from PeopleOps and Grievance Database against LR resources, programs, tools to determine effectiveness and identify gaps
Conduct impact analysis on Corporate Initiative consultations
Write briefing material related to labour relations issues for senior management, such as briefing notes and presentations.
Updating knowledge articles owned by and related to corporate labour relations initiatives.

About You

Post-secondary Degree in Labour or Industrial Relations, data analysis or an acceptable combination of knowledge and experience.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a corporate environment with a unionized workforce
Knowledge of Labour Relations and Labour Law, as well as knowledge and awareness of employment related legislation
Knowledge of the collective bargaining process
Advanced knowledge of computer systems, specifically Microsoft Excel, PowerBI, Word, and PowerPoint
Experience creating complex reports, analyzing data and building dashboards
Well-developed research, reasoning, mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills
