Original job description

Job description:

Who we are

LD Human Resources provides custom HR solutions with in-house consulting and virtual support for small to mid-sized organizations. We work with our clients to improve their team productivity, organizational structure, company culture, and employee relations, which translates into increased profitability. We also ensure the organization is HR compliant, so it remains protected.

At LD Human Resources, we strive to help business owners and HR leaders develop a solid HR foundation, building on the resources they have and aligning the team’s performance with their organization’s short- and long-term objectives.

We believe people are an organization’s most valuable asset – they are the competitive edge! With the right people in the right roles and motivated with a shared purpose, our clients experience accelerated business results.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Marketing & Business Development Coordinator to support the marketing and business development activities of our growing HR consulting firm. This role is ideal for a creative, organized, and relationship-minded individual who is eager to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing, content creation, partner relationship management, and event coordination within a professional services environment. This is not a sales or lead-generation role; the business development focus is on nurturing our existing networking relationships and planning our event presence.

The ideal candidate is curious, adaptable, organized, and detail-oriented, with strong written communication skills, a passion for marketing, and a natural ability to build and maintain professional relationships. They are proactive, collaborative, and excited to contribute ideas while learning in a fast-paced and supportive environment.

We are a busy and growing HR consulting practice, and this is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys thinking outside the box, takes initiative, and wants to build a career in marketing and business development. As the successful candidate grows into the role, they will take on increasing ownership of our marketing and business development functions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

· Assist with the development and execution of marketing campaigns that support brand awareness and business growth

· Create, schedule, and publish social media content including posts, reels, graphics, newsletters, and blogs using approved branding templates

· Research marketing trends, audience engagement strategies, and content ideas to support ongoing initiatives

· Collaborate with leadership on creative marketing campaigns and promotional strategies

· Monitor and support online engagement by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a professional and timely manner

· Assist with website updates, content management, and maintaining brand consistency across digital platforms

· Support the coordination and promotion of webinars, training sessions, and company initiatives

· Assist with the design and coordination of marketing materials and promotional assets

· Maintain and update online business profiles, directory listings, and marketing databases

Business Development & Events

· Follow up with networking partners, referral partners, and professional contacts after meetings and events to nurture relationships and keep LD Human Resources top of mind

· Maintain an up-to-date partner and contact tracker in our CRM, logging interactions, follow-up dates, and next steps

· Research and track upcoming industry events, conferences, association functions, and networking opportunities, and maintain a shared events calendar

· Help plan and manage event participation, including registrations, logistics, sponsorship or booth coordination, promotional materials, and pre- and post-event communications

· Prepare post-event summaries capturing key contacts, takeaways, and follow-up actions

· Assist in the creation of proposals and presentations based on client needs

· Conduct research to identify potential partnerships, collaboration opportunities, and audience growth strategies

· Assist with internal projects, company culture initiatives, and special events as required

Qualifications:

· Completed a program in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, or a related field

· 2+ years' experience in marketing, business development, or event coordination considered an asset

· Proficient in MS Office, Sharepoint, and Mailchimp with strong skills in spreadsheets and presentation tools; experience with a CRM is an asset

· Working knowledge of Instagram and LinkedIn; experience with Canva, CapCut, and social scheduling tools is an asset

· Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with strong collaboration and research capabilities

· Confident building professional relationships, with consistent follow-through on commitments and next steps

· Basic understanding of digital marketing, branding, content creation, and business development

· Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

· Experience coordinating or supporting events is an asset

· Creative mindset with attention to detail

· Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work independently and collaboratively
