Original job description

We are seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated 1:1 Support Worker to provide individualized support to a child within our childcare program. The successful candidate will work closely with the child, educators, families, and community professionals to promote the child's participation, independence, social development, and overall success within the childcare environment.

Responsibilites:
Provide one-to-one support to a child with identified developmental, behavioral, physical, or emotional needs.
Assist the child in participating in daily activities and routines.
Implement individualized strategies and goals as directed by the childcare team and external specialists.
Foster positive social interactions and peer relationships.
Support the child's communication, self-regulation, and independence skills.
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
Follow all childcare centre policies and procedures, including health and safety protocols.

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Care, Educational Assistant, Developmental Services Worker, or a related field preferred.
Experience supporting children with diverse learning, developmental, behavioral, or physical needs.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification.
Valid Vulnerable Sector Check.

Hours & Compensation
