Original job description

About LeadingAhead Energy (LAE)

LeadingAhead Energy (LAE) has been a leading EV charging infrastructure in Canada specializing in turnkey electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure and energy storage projects. As an independent, technology-agnostic advisor, we provide clients across Canada and the USA with access to the most effective solutions available, from design specification and hardware procurement to installation and ongoing operation. We advocate for the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) to ensure future-proofed services that deliver on our clients' business cases. Join our small, young, and dynamic team as we evolve into an industry leader.

Position Overview

The Junior Inside Sales role is pivotal to LAE’s continued success. Acting as the bloodstream of the company, this position supports the sales department in developing new strategic alliances and managing the early stages of the sales cycle. Based in our Downtown Vancouver office, this role offers a unique opportunity to learn from our project management team, attend industry events, and grow within an entrepreneurial culture. While we offer occasional work-from-home flexibility, we strongly believe in in-person team building and relationship development, making regular office attendance mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prospecting & Lead Generation: Identify and reach out to new clients via email, phone,

networking, and publishing initiatives.

  • Market Research: Create and maintain targeted prospecting lists and stay informed on

government incentives within key markets.

  • CRM Management: Accurately update our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system

throughout the entire sales cycle.

  • Sales Support: Assist in the preparation of proposals, estimates, and presentations; schedule

meetings for senior team members.

  • Relationship Building: Cultivate long-term relationships with clients and partner with local

associations.

  • Industry Engagement: Conduct "lunch and learn" sessions, attend trade shows, conferences, and

industry events to represent LAE as needed.

  • Performance: Meet defined sales objectives, targets, and activity metrics.

Professional Requirements

  • Education: Undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in sales or a client-facing role is preferred. Knowledge of the real

estate or construction industries is a significant plus.

  • Industry Knowledge: A strong interest in the EV charging, energy storage, or clean tech sectors is

essential. Familiarity with the industry is highly valued.

  • Language Skills: Bilingual proficiency (French/English) is a major asset.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Location: Ability to work primarily from our Downtown Vancouver office is mandatory although

hybrid is possible

Personality Traits & Culture Fit

  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: You are self-motivated, driven, and eager to grow your career within a fast-

paced, evolving company.

  • Resilience: You are hard-working and efficient, viewing challenges as opportunities to learn.
  • Social Aptitude: You possess great social skills and thrive on building relationships with

colleagues and clients alike.

  • Growth Mindset: You are looking for an intrapreneurial role where your progression is valued and

supported.

  • Team Oriented: You believe in the power of in-person collaboration and contributing to a

cooperative team environment.
