What You Will Do Day-to-Day
- Lead Civil Designs: Execute civil engineering designs specifically for residential and commercial land development layouts.
- Deliver Technical Assets: Prepare essential project deliverables, including detailed grading plans, servicing blueprints, technical specifications, engineering reports, and tender packages.
- Design Core Infrastructure: Own the structural design of critical site features, covering stormwater management systems, site servicing, drainage, and septic systems.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Coordinate and integrate project inputs from cross-functional partners including architects, surveyors, urban planners, and general contractors.
- Navigate Regulatory Approvals: Act as a key point of contact to liaise with Ontario municipalities, conservation authorities, and utility providers to secure necessary permits.
- Ensure Compliance: Keep all designs fully aligned with provincial standards, local municipal guidelines, and the Ontario Building Code.
- Provide Site Support: Conduct regular site visits and field inspections to monitor construction milestones, resolve unexpected field changes, and answer design RFIs.
What You Bring To The Team
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional License: Current, valid Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario.
- Industry Background: Strong foundational experience in land development (residential/commercial design) or construction engineering.
- Software Mastery: Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D for land grading, servicing, and stormwater design.
- Approval Process Knowledge: A clear understanding of Ontario municipal approval workflows and engineering protocols.
- Mobility: A valid Ontario driver's licence and a reliable vehicle to travel out to active project sites.
- Asset: A PMP certification is highly valued but not required.
