Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Sales Director, the Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for driving profitable growth of Leclerc’s Private Label business across key categories, including Breakfast Bars, Nutritional Bars, Snack Bars, Cookies, and Crackers. The role focuses on managing strategic customer relationships, expanding existing business, identifying new opportunities, and delivering sales objectives within the assigned territory.

This is a home-office-based position requiring regular travel.

Key Responsibilities

Build and strengthen strategic relationships with key customer stakeholders to drive long-term growth.
Lead and grow a portfolio of national accounts by developing and executing customer-specific business plans.
Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities within the Private Label market.
Negotiate agreements, manage promotional strategies, and deliver profitable sales growth.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring new products and innovative solutions to market.
Analyze customer performance, market trends, and competitive activity to develop actionable growth strategies.
Provide accurate sales forecasting and contribute to annual business planning.
Act as a trusted partner to customers while reinforcing Leclerc's position as a preferred Private Label supplier.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field.
5 to 10 years of successful experience in Private Label sales within the Canadian retail market.
Proven experience developing and growing Private Label programs with major Canadian retailers.
Direct experience working with Loblaw is highly desirable and will be considered a strong asset.
A strong track record in account management, business development, customer negotiations, and sales planning.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of customer organizations.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with experience in forecasting, business planning, and delivering results.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms; experience with SAP is considered an asset.
A highly organized, self-motivated, and results-oriented approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility and willingness to travel regularly to support customer relationships and business growth.
Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
Residence within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) is required.
