Job Title: Customer Service Representative

Status: Contract basis (October 13, 2026, until January 15, 2026)

Position Status: New Role

Reporting to: Manager, Customer Service

Location: Ottawa, ON (in office)

Overview:

As a Seasonal Customer Service Representative, your main focus will be answering incoming customer calls and helping with orders, products, deliveries and other service questions. You will provide friendly, accurate support while helping customers get the information or resolution they need as efficiently as possible.

Depending on business needs, skills and performance, seasonal employees may also be cross-trained to assist our Digital Support teams with email, live chat, online order review and other e-commerce work.

Key Responsibilities:

Answers queries from customers promptly, courteously, and efficiently
Provides accurate entry and processing of customer orders
Provides customers with accurate pricing, part numbers, and/or product availability for orders
Determines the nature of the call and forwards it to the appropriate individual or group as necessary
Resolves simple service inquiries and delivery issues, including tracking orders
Enters catalog requests, processes gift cards, etc. as required
Contributes to projects, including packaging
Respond to customers through email and live chat while maintaining the same friendly, accurate service provided by phone.
Review online orders for accuracy, completeness and possible fraud indicators, escalating concerns when required.
Monitor shared customer service and order inboxes and respond or route messages appropriately.

Knowledge and Skills:

Possesses basic knowledge of Lee Valley’s primary product lines
Demonstrates strong customer service skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Ability to communicate in both French and English is an asset
Experience in a call centre environment is an asset
Knowledge of Microsoft Suite
The ability to multitask, learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities during busy periods
Accuracy and attention to detail when entering orders and customer information.
High School, or less than 1 year specific training or college certificate.
