Role Description:

The Financial Controller is a full-time, hybrid role based in Durham, ON, with some flexibility for work from home. The role involves overseeing the following for Lendix clients from a variety of industries:

Accounting operations, including maintaining the general ledger, preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual internal financial statements, and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting;
The monitoring of cash flow, support budgeting and forecasting, and analysis to inform strategic and operational decisions;
Day-to-day responsibilities include managing internal controls, coordinating data entry for A/R, A/P, Payroll, Government Remittances, and Job Costing reporting and administration;
Ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations, and improving financial processes and systems.
The role will also collaborate with other advisors and leadership to provide financial insights for client engagements and internal initiatives

Qualifications:

High energy and passionate about solving challenges that involve numbers, people, and processes.
Live in Durham Region, have a valid Ontario driver's license, access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel to multiple Lendix customers for on-site work during the week.
Strong accounting foundation, including experience with Financial Statements and Accounting processes within Canada (ASPE).
Solid finance background, with practical knowledge of Finance and Financial Reporting in a business advisory context.
Demonstrated Analytical Skills, including the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and provide clear recommendations.
Proficiency with accounting and financial software, spreadsheets, and related tools.
Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a professional designation (CPA or equivalent) is an asset.
Experience in a controller, senior accountant, or similar role within professional services or small to mid-sized businesses.
Strong attention to detail, integrity, and commitment to accurate, compliant financial records.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
Enjoys data entry, analysis, and report generation and interpretation.
