About the Role

The Power, Utilities & Renewables Technology Advisory Manager leads leads IT infrastructure and architecture workstreams across the private equity investment lifecycle for assets in the Power, Utilities & Renewables sector. This role is built for a Solutions Architect or Enterprise Architect with a consulting background and direct experience supporting utilities, power generation, or renewables clients - someone who understands how technology decisions drive operational and financial outcomes in regulated and unregulated energy environments.

Operating at the intersection of enterprise IT, energy sector operations, and private equity, you will lead diligence, integration, and value-creation workstreams for transactions involving utilities, power generation, T&D, renewables platforms, energy services, and midstream assets in the Power, Utilities & Renewables sector. You will translate complex IT and infrastructure findings into actionable financial narratives and partner directly with target operations and technology teams to build Day 1 readiness plans that protect business continuity and safeguard deal value. Familiarity with OT environments - gained through architecture work, client engagements, or grid modernization programs - is an asset and will develop further on the job. What You’ll Do

Full-Lifecycle M&A Advisory for Energy & Utilities Assets

Diligence & Risk Assessment: Lead buy-side and sell-side technology workstreams to evaluate target IT and infrastructure environments, identifying technical debt, regulatory exposures, and technology-driven opportunities to reduce OpEx and improve operational reliability.
Transition & Value Creation: Partner with target IT and operations teams to execute critical Day 1 readiness plans (network cutovers, TSA exits, systems continuity) while collaborating with portfolio company leadership during the hold period to drive post-close modernization and AI-driven efficiencies.

Execution & Delivery

Architectural Deep-Dives: Evaluate complex IT infrastructure environments - including cloud footprints, integration patterns, and hybrid architectures common in energy and utility operations - producing high-fidelity diagrams that surface scalability bottlenecks and security gaps.
Executive Storytelling & Financials: Translate complex technical and infrastructure findings into clear, Board-ready presentations that bridge the gap between technology metrics and financial impacts like EBITDA, CapEx/OpEx, and ROI.

Engagement & Team Leadership

Discovery & Pipeline Support: Lead high-stakes discovery sessions and site visits with utility and energy asset operators to extract data from complex environments, while contributing to the business development pipeline via pitch decks and scoping proposals.
Project Leadership: Own end-to-end project scoping, workstream planning, and on-time delivery while managing consulting teams to ensure premium quality control under intense transaction timelines.

What We’re Looking For

Professional Experience

Advisory & Architecture Depth: 8–18 years of experience spanning IT solutions architecture or enterprise architecture and consulting or professional services delivery - with demonstrated ability to lead client engagements and produce high-quality deliverables under deal-cycle pressure.
Energy & Utilities Sector Exposure: Direct experience supporting Power, Utilities & Renewables clients within the last 3–5 years - through consulting engagements, grid modernization programs, or digital transformation initiatives. Depth of sector experience is less important than recency and relevance.
M&A Lifecycle Familiarity: Working knowledge of the private equity transaction lifecycle is a strong asset - including familiarity with carve-outs, integrations, standalone readiness, and hold-period value creation. Not a hard requirement for the right candidate.

Technical Foundation

IT Architecture & Infrastructure: Strong hands-on experience designing and assessing enterprise IT environments - cloud platforms, hybrid architectures, network design, integration patterns, and major hyperscaler ecosystems. Comfortable producing architecture diagrams and translating findings for executive audiences.
Energy Technology Awareness: Familiarity with the technology landscape of energy and utility operations - including grid modernization platforms, SCADA or OT environments, NERC CIP or IEC 62443 frameworks, or operational/enterprise IT convergence - whether from direct experience or client-side exposure. OT expertise is a differentiator, not a prerequisite.

Strategic Mindset

Value-Driven Orientation: A distinct commitment to isolating technical and infrastructure levers that directly preserve deal value or positively impact portfolio company EBITDA and reliability KPIs.

Communication & Leadership

Executive Presence: Proven ability to deliver clear, confident technical perspectives to C-level executives - translating complex architecture and infrastructure findings into financial and operational narratives that resonate at the Board level.
Team Accountability: A demonstrated track record of managing professional services teams and driving workstream accountability under intense deal-cycle pressure.
