Think of this role as an operational risk conductor and quality gatekeeper. As a Senior Internal/External Auditor – Risk & Compliance, your mission is to ensure the institution remains structurally resilient and securely out of regulatory crosshairs. This is a highly dynamic position divided equally into two core dimensions:

Analytical & Investigative (50%) • You will dive deep into complex banking workflows, engineer comprehensive risk-based test plans, audit technical operations, and rigorously verify evidence across specialized risk domains.
Advisory & Managerial (50%) • You will lead a high-performing audit team, act as a trusted advisor to the business, and negotiate remediation strategies with senior leaders to strengthen the bank’s internal control environment.

Key Responsibilities

Audit Execution & Testing • Lead end-to-end internal audits and independent testing frameworks covering Operational Risk and Compliance Risk landscapes.
Risk Domain Governance • Evaluate control frameworks across critical risk stripes, including Market, Credit, Liquidity, IT, Cyber, and Fraud Risk.
Team Leadership & Development • Manage, mentor, and guide junior auditors during fieldwork, ensuring high-quality audit workpapers and methodology compliance.
Stakeholder Advisory & Negotiation • Partner with senior business leaders to communicate audit findings, negotiate realistic corrective action plans, and influence risk culture.
Regulatory Alignment • Ensure testing methodologies accurately reflect and satisfy evolving local and international financial regulatory requirements.

Requirements & Profile

Professional Experience

Experience Level: 5 to 10 years of progressive audit experience within the financial services sector.
Audit Background: Proven track record as an Internal Auditor / Audit Manager at a financial institution, or an External Audit Manager from a reputable public accounting firm (ideally within Financial Services).
