Power BI Developer

LeverageTek is actively seeking a Bilingual Power BI Report and Dashboard Developer for a contract running through April 30, 2027, with its Ottawa-based customer.

Work Location

This is a hybrid role in Ottawa, ON.

Candidates must have their own laptop with the ability to VPN into the customer's network.

Key Tasks

• Evaluate user business requirements and design, develop and deliver bilingual semantic models, Power BI reports and dashboards for executives and managers
• Develop and promote self-service analytics capabilities while maintaining appropriate governance controls
• Develop, write and implement analytics and business intelligence projects, including evaluating technical and operational feasibility
• Perform integration tests and data quality reviews to ensure correct functionality
• Diagnose, isolate and debug data solution problems, and monitor performance and efficiency
• Anticipate risks and issues, and take action to mitigate and resolve them
• Define security configurations for data domains and work with the security team to implement them
• Maintain applications and ensure documentation is current and quality assurance is performed when changes are implemented
• Write business requirements and technical and business process documentation
• Promote innovation and continuous improvement in analytics and BI processes
• Produce knowledge transfer documentation

Key Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5+ years of experience designing, developing and implementing bilingual semantic models and Power BI reports and dashboards
• Experience designing and implementing a single bilingual Power BI semantic model using Microsoft-recommended multilingual design patterns (Field Parameters, translated metadata, dynamic language selection)
• Candidates must be Fluently Bilingual in English and French and must be able to communicate effectively to both English and French stakeholders

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience designing high-performance, visually compelling Power BI visualizations, reports and dashboards that optimize user experience and accessibility
• Experience with advanced DAX calculations and integrity checking
• Knowledge and experience with business intelligence concepts (semantic data modelling, star schemas)
• Experience translating data into KPIs for specific bilingual audiences
• Ability to handle conflicting work demands across multiple projects and deliverables
• Critical thinking skills to convert business needs into conceptual data models
• Ability to understand business needs, build relationships and communicate with business users

Compensation

Hourly Rate Negotiable. This is an existing position vacancy.
