Role Description The General Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Toronto, ON, responsible for overseeing daily operations of a high-profile hospitality venue within Liberty Entertainment Group. This role includes managing staff scheduling and performance, monitoring service standards, and ensuring an outstanding guest experience across dining, events, and nightlife services. The General Manager supervises budgeting, revenue targets, and cost controls, collaborates with leadership on strategic initiatives, and ensures compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations. Day-to-day activities also involve coordinating with culinary, events, and marketing teams, handling guest feedback, overseeing vendor relationships, and maintaining the physical appearance and functionality of the venue. The General Manager leads by example, fostering a positive, inclusive workplace culture and supporting ongoing staff training and development.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in hospitality or restaurant management, with responsibility for daily operations, staff oversight, and guest service quality. Michelin experience is preferred.
- Strong leadership, team-building, and people management skills, including performance management, coaching, and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, analyze financial reports, and drive revenue while controlling costs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with diverse guests, partners, and team members.
- Organizational and problem-solving abilities, including prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and food and beverage regulations, along with best practices in hospitality operations.
- Experience coordinating special events or large-scale functions is an asset.
- Post-secondary education in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by venue operations.
