Original job description

TELUS Health is empowering every person to live their healthiest life. Guided by our vision, we are leveraging the power of our leading edge technology and focusing on the uniqueness of each individual to create the future of health. As a global-leading health and well-being provider – encompassing physical, mental and financial health – TELUS Health is improving health outcomes for consumers, patients, healthcare professionals, employers and employees.

Join our team and what we’ll accomplish together

Are you someone who speaks both "business" and "technology"? We're looking for a Business Analyst - Requirement Specialist - Health and Welfare Administration to help our clients transform how they manage employee benefits and HR workflows. You'll be the bridge between what our clients need and what our development teams build - translating complex business problems into elegant, integrated solutions that actually work.

What You'll Do

Work Directly with Clients & Internal Partners You'll partner with HR leaders, payroll teams, and business stakeholders to understand their real-world challenges. This isn't just about collecting requirements - you'll dig deeper to uncover what's actually driving their needs, then translate that into clear, detailed specifications that guide implementation and configuration of our RBS platform.

Design Solutions That Connect Systems Benefits administration doesn't exist in a vacuum. You'll navigate the intersection of payroll, financial transactions, document management, reporting, and telephony systems. Your job is to make sense of how they all work together and ensure our solutions fit seamlessly into clients' existing workflows.

Drive Implementation Forward From scoping to testing to launch, you'll be hands-on throughout the implementation lifecycle. You'll collaborate with solution architects, functional leads, and QA teams to validate that what we're building actually solves the problem. You'll also stay on top of changes and keep stakeholders aligned when things shift.

Stay Current & Build Expertise The benefits and HR tech space is evolving fast. You'll grow your knowledge through internal training, industry certifications, and self-directed learning - keeping yourself sharp on both domain expertise and emerging trends in technology-driven HR solutions.

What you bring

Your Foundation

3–5+ years of experience in benefits administration, HR/payroll, or business requirements analysis in a technology-focused environment
Strong working knowledge of business process modeling, process mapping, requirements gathering, and project management
Solid grasp of agile methodologies and how to work within them

How You Work

Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) - you translate complexity into clarity
Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple stakeholders and priorities without dropping the ball
Independent, self-directed, and comfortable taking initiative and exercising good judgment
Customer-focused mindset; you understand that everything you do ultimately impacts end-users

Your Skills & Mindset

Analytical problem-solver who thinks creatively and isn't afraid to challenge the status quo
Comfortable with technology and eager to learn new platforms and tools
Strong negotiation and conflict management skills - you can navigate competing priorities with grace
Demonstrated risk management thinking - you anticipate problems before they happen

Nice to Have

Understanding of web and mobile user experience design
Experience with workflow automation
Background in HR, benefits administration, or related domains

Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. We encourage all qualified candidates to apply, even if the posted salary range doesn't match your expectations. We're open to discussing competitive compensation packages tailored to your experience level and expertise.

TELUS Health offers rewarding benefits, which may vary per job function, such as:

Comprehensive total rewards package highlighting competitive salary and bonus structures, minimum 3 weeks of vacation, and flexible benefits plan to meet the needs of you and your family
Flexibility to work in-office, virtually or a combination of both
Generous company matched pension
Opportunity to give back to communities in which we work, live and serve
Career growth and learning & development opportunities to develop your skills
And much more…

Job Type: This is for a current vacancy.
