Original job description

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by 👋

Are you actively looking for a new opportunity? Or just checking the market? Well… you might just be in the right place!

We’re looking for an Outbound Account Executive to join our high performing hospitality sales team in NOAM.

This is a full cycle Account Executive (AE) role. AE’s will be generating a pipeline through prospecting, booking meetings and owning the sales processing from initial outreach to demo and close. You’ll be part of an evolving and disruptive company that is changing the way that business owners and their customers engage with each other in Hospitality.

What you’ll be doing:

Strategic Prospecting & Pipeline Growth

Drive Market Expansion: Proactively identify and engage high-potential hospitality venues across the NOAM market to position Lightspeed as the premier POS and Payments solution.
Execute Multi-Channel Outreach: Build a robust, self-sustained pipeline through a high-volume, strategic mix of cold calling, personalised emailing, and social selling.
Optimize the Funnel: Continuously refine your outreach cadences by analyzing engagement data, A/B testing messaging, and sharing successful "plays" with the broader team.
Full-Cycle Ownership: Manage the end-to-end sales process from initial discovery to close, ensuring a seamless transition for new partners.

Consultative Selling & Demonstrations

Deliver High-Impact Solutions: Lead tailored one-on-one or group demonstrations (via screen-share) that map Lightspeed’s features to the specific operational pains of the hospitality sector.
Architect Ecosystems: Act as a trusted advisor by understanding third-party integrations (e.g., Deputy, Xero, SevenRooms) to provide venues with a holistic, "all-in-one" technology stack.
Financial Fluency: Confidently navigate pricing negotiations and the value-add of integrated payments, working closely with management to secure "win-win" commercial terms.

Performance & Operational Excellence

Surpass Targets: Maintain a relentless focus on hitting and exceeding monthly and quarterly revenue & new business location quotas.
CRM Discipline: Uphold impeccable Salesforce hygiene, ensuring all lead data, activities, and opportunity stages are accurate for precise executive forecasting.
Adhere to SLAs: Consistently meet or exceed Service Level Agreements regarding lead response times, business qualification criteria, and deployment timelines.

Team Collaboration & Values

Embody Lightspeed Values: Work as a high-integrity team member, fostering a culture of transparency, inclusion, and a "customer-first" mindset in every interaction.
Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate effectively with Lead Development, Onboarding, and Account Management teams to ensure long-term customer success and business growth.
Market Intelligence: Stay at the forefront of the NOAM hospitality landscape by monitoring competitor moves, industry trends, and local market dynamics to sharpen our competitive edge.

What you need to bring:

You’ve built pipeline through an outbound motion and know how to turn cold outreach into real opportunities
You understand how to manage and forecast a pipeline, and you consistently hit or exceed your targets
You’ve been a top performer before and can clearly speak to the results behind it
You’re comfortable owning the full sales cycle from first touch to close
You create your own momentum instead of waiting on inbound; you are not an ‘order taker’
You know how to run strong discovery and guide deals forward with structure and intent
You’re comfortable being challenged on your deals and can clearly defend your forecast
You’re motivated to grow your career at Lightspeed Commerce and be part of a high-performance team
As a global company with employees and clients outside of Quebec, fluency in English as a working language is required for this position.

We know that people are more than what’s on their CV. If you’re unsure that you have the right profile for the role... hit the ‘Apply’ button and give it a try!

Be a changemaker

You’ll enjoy:

A flexible work environment that empowers you to do your best work
A culture that celebrates performance
The chance to make an impact in a team that’s big enough for career growth, but lean enough to make your voice heard
Career-defining opportunities

Plus benefits designed to keep you happy, healthy and fulfilled.

Flexible paid time off and remote work policies
Equity options, because this is your company too
Contributions to your pension plan. Your future matters
Training opportunities to grow your skills and career
Health and wellness credit so you feel your best
Time off to volunteer and give back to your community
Interest groups, employee led networks, social committees to sponsored sports teams
Computer purchase program to get your personal Macbook
Enhanced parental leave to support growing families

Fuel your growth. Find your people.

At Lightspeed, your growth is our priority. We invest in you with continuous learning opportunities, global mobility and benefits designed to support you - all within a driven, diverse and inclusive team that’s passionate about empowering our communities.

To all recruitment agencies: Lightspeed does not accept unsolicited agency resumes. If we have not directly engaged your company in writing to supply candidates for a specific vacancy, Lightspeed will not be responsible for any fees related to unsolicited resumes.

Lightspeed is a proud equal opportunity employer and we are committed to creating an inclusive and barrier-free workplace. Lightspeed welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities. Accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process.

Where to from here?

Obviously, this has to be mutually beneficial: we want you to step into a role you love, and we want to offer you a place you’re proud to come to every day. For a glimpse into our world check out our career page here.

Lightspeed is building communities through commerce, and we need people from all backgrounds and lived experiences to do that. We were founded in 2005, in Montreal’s gay village and our original members were all part of the LGBTQ+ community. The ethos of our business has been about inclusion from the very beginning, and we strive to provide a workplace where everyone belongs.

Who we are:

Powering the businesses that are the backbone of the global economy, Lightspeed's one-stop commerce platform helps merchants innovate to simplify, scale, and provide exceptional customer experiences. Our cloud commerce solution transforms and unifies online and physical operations, multichannel sales, expansion to new locations, global payments, financial solutions, and connection to supplier networks.
