Original job description

About the Lincoln Chamber

The Lincoln Chamber of Commerce is a growing and evolving organization that champions the voice of business across West Niagara. We support our members through advocacy, connection, visibility, and opportunity. From solopreneurs and family-run shops to large-scale employers and government leaders, we’re at the centre of meaningful conversations that shape our community’s future.

And we’re just getting started.

This is an exciting time to join our team. As our Community & Communications Coordinator, you’ll not only play a vital role in how we show up - you’ll also be introduced to an incredible network of business owners, community leaders, and stakeholders at all levels. This position is ideal for someone who sees this not just as a job, but as a launchpad into a career in communications, community development, economic growth, or government relations.

If you’re the kind of person who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves connecting with people, and takes pride in your work - we want to hear from you.

About the Role

This is a high-trust, high-autonomy role for someone who can jump in with both feet. We’ll support you as you learn the ropes, but we’re looking for someone who’s motivated, detail-oriented, and genuinely excited to take ownership of their day-to-day work.

You’ll help lead the charge in how we communicate with our members and the broader public - across email, social media, events, and one-on-one interactions. You’ll manage our marketing calendar, support key programs, and represent the Chamber with professionalism and approachability.

We work hard - but we have fun doing it. No two days are the same here, and that’s just the way we like it.

What You’ll Do

Member Communications

Be the friendly, go-to contact for our members via phone, email, and social
Write engaging newsletters, announcements, and updates
Maintain a member-focused blog to spotlight businesses, wins, and local stories
Proactively connect with members for features, sponsorships, updates, and engagement

Marketing & Social Media

Manage the Chamber’s marketing calendar across all events and initiatives
Create and schedule content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok
Maintain YouTube account as needed
Design visuals in Canva and edit videos with similar tools, if necessary
Strategically cross-promote on platforms and ensure consistent branding
Leverage short-form video and behind-the-scenes storytelling to bring the Chamber to life

Events & Programs

Coordinate logistics and communications for:
Outstanding Business Achievement Awards
Annual Chamber Golf Tournament
Politicians’ Breakfast
State of the Town Address
Business After 5 and Breakfast Before 9 events
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of your work
Be available to support in-person events during early mornings or evenings (approximately 1-2 times a month)

Committees & Support

Support committee meetings by creating agendas, taking minutes, and tracking follow-ups
Organize pre-, during-, and post-meeting logistics with ease

Admin & Operations

Maintain up-to-date records in our CRM (Membee or similar)
Use tools like Basecamp, Notion, Buffer, or Slack for project and task management
Confidently work within Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, Word, and Excel
Use ChatGPT (yes, we see you) as a tool - not a crutch. You know how to ask for help, but also how to think for yourself.

Requirements

You’re a Great Fit If You…

Live in West Niagara (Grimsby, Lincoln, or West Lincoln) and have access to reliable transportation
Are a strong communicator who builds trust naturally
Have experience with Canva and feel confident using at least one project management tool
Are comfortable creating content and learning new digital tools as needed
Enjoy being in community - talking to people, solving problems, and making things happen
Want this role to be more than just a job - it’s a stepping stone for you
Value autonomy, integrity, and fun in your work environment

Bonus (but not required)

Experience with short-form video creation (TikTok, Instagram Reels, CapCut, etc.)
Comfort with learning new tools and figuring things out with curiosity and grit
Familiarity with West Niagara’s business landscape or community organizations

How to Apply

Please send your resume and a short cover letter (written by you, not ChatGPT) to: info@lincolnchamber.ca

We’re looking for people who are aligned with the role and who read instructions carefully, so:

🚫 Please do not call or visit the office about your application

✨ Get creative - if you want your application to stand out, let us know who you are

✅ Only applicants selected for interviews will be contacted. We can’t wait to meet you.

Compensation

Location: Lincoln, Ontario (In-person with potential for hybrid)

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (28 hours/week)

Compensation: $21.60/hour

Start Date: As soon as we meet the right person

Benefits

Why You’ll Love Working with Us

At the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, we deeply value the people who help us support our thriving business community. We know that great work happens when people feel supported, trusted, and appreciated - and that’s exactly the kind of environment we strive to create.

While this is a part-time position, it comes with some pretty full-time perks:

After a successful probationary period, you’ll be eligible for:

Health & Dental Benefits – A rare offering for a part-time role.
Two Weeks Paid Vacation – Because everyone deserves time to recharge.
Office Closures Around the Holidays – We close between Christmas and New Year’s so you can fully enjoy the season.
Flexible Hours – Work late for an event? You’ll get lieu time off the same week. Your time is respected.
Fridays Off – We work hard Monday to Thursday so you can start your weekend early.
Phone Stipend – Monthly reimbursement to help cover your personal phone expenses.
Mileage Reimbursement – When you travel for work, we’ve got you covered.

We believe in work-life balance, open communication, and creating a fun, high-trust environment where everyone can thrive.
