Role Description The Forward Deployed Engineer is a full-time, hybrid role based in Winnipeg, MB, with flexibility for partial work from home. In this position, you will work directly with clients to understand their business processes, identify automation opportunities, and translate requirements into robust AI-enabled software solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and implementing back-end services, integrating open-source AI models with third-party tools and APIs, and deploying secure, reliable systems that fit into existing workflows. You will collaborate with LinkedAi strategists and client stakeholders, iterate on prototypes based on feedback, and provide technical guidance on best practices. The role also involves maintaining and improving deployed solutions, documenting implementations, and contributing to internal tools and frameworks that streamline future client projects.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development, with the ability to design, implement, and maintain production-quality systems.
• Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), including writing clean, testable code and working with modern development tools and frameworks.
• Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, such as building APIs, integrating third-party services, and working with databases and cloud environments.
• Comfort working directly with clients to gather requirements, explain technical concepts clearly, and collaborate on solutions that align with business needs.
• Familiarity with AI or machine learning concepts, and interest in applied AI integrations using open-source tools (experience with Python or similar languages is an asset).
• Ability to operate in a hybrid work setting, manage time independently, and coordinate effectively with distributed team members.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with version control (e.g., Git), software testing, and secure development practices; prior work in consulting or client-facing engineering roles is beneficial.
