About Linterra

Linterra gives partners in construction a material advantage. We supply aggregates and ready-mix concrete throughout the Fraser Valley, operating our own quarries, gravel pits, wash plants, concrete plants, fill sites, landscape centres, and trucking fleet.

As part of the Klaassen Group of Companies, Linterra combines local expertise with the resources and support of a larger organization.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on General Manager to lead Linterra's operations and drive the company's continued growth and performance.

Reporting directly to the Owner/President, the General Manager is responsible for the overall operational and financial performance of Linterra, providing leadership to the Concrete, Aggregates, and Finance and Administration divisions.

This position requires a strategic leader who is equally comfortable developing business plans, analyzing financial performance, supporting management teams, and staying actively involved in day-to-day operations.

The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening operational efficiencies, identifying growth opportunities, and maintaining strong relationships with customers, First Nations partners, regulators, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and strategic direction across Linterra's operations, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Develop and execute annual business plans, budgets, and performance targets in collaboration with divisional leaders.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the management team, promoting accountability, collaboration, and a positive workplace culture.
  • Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, profitability, cost management, and capital planning.
  • Monitor operational performance, financial reporting, and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Establish pricing strategies, negotiate major contracts, and support business development initiatives.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for sustainable growth throughout the Fraser Valley.
  • Oversee permitting, land agreements, and regulatory matters associated with Linterra's operations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, municipalities, regulators, customers, and suppliers.
  • Improve operational systems, reporting processes, internal controls, and overall business efficiencies.
  • Represent Linterra within the Klaassen Group leadership team, working collaboratively with shared service departments.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of progressive leadership experience in operations, finance, or business management.
  • Proven experience leading management teams across multiple operational sites.
  • Strong financial management background, including budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and profit and loss accountability.
  • CPA designation preferred, or a degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting, modelling, and analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in business planning, strategic decision-making, and operational improvement.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in aggregates, ready-mix concrete, construction materials, or a related industry is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with Command Alkon, Sage 300, or comparable business systems is an asset.
  • Experience with permitting, reclamation, or First Nations partnerships is an asset.
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly between operational sites in Chilliwack, Agassiz, and Hope.

What We Offer

  • Competitive annual salary
  • Annual performance-based bonus
  • Four weeks of paid vacation
  • Comprehensive group benefits
  • Health spending account
  • Employer-matched RRSP program
  • Company vehicle and fuel card
  • Company-provided laptop and cell phone
  • Opportunity to play a key leadership role in a growing, established organization
