About Lisplogics
Lisplogics builds real-time decision systems for operations management. We combine operations research and software engineering to help organizations reduce costs, improve profitability and serve their customers better. We take on ambitious projects. You will work with a young tems of engineers on systems that run real operations every day.
The role
This is a full-time hybrid role in Montreal. You will work remote for the next upcoming months but you ma work from our office at least [3] days eventually. You may also visit client sites as needed.
You will lead our technical team and be the main technical contact for our clients. You will:
- Design, build and maintain the back-end systems behind our real-time optimization platforms
- Work with our engineers to turn operations research models into reliable production services
- Meet clients, in French, to understand their operations, scope solutions and present results
- Set engineering standards, review code and mentor the team
- Own performance, scalability, security and observability of deployed services
- Shape the technical roadmap
- Manage a small team
Requirements
- Live in the Greater Montreal area, or plan to relocate at your own expense before starting, and be available to work.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada (we do not offer visa sponsorship)
- Fluent in French, spoken and written, because you will work directly with Quebec clients
- Professional English, because [your real reason, e.g. some clients, partners and technical documentation are in English]
- [5]+ years building production back-end systems (APIs, microservices, databases)
- Experience leading a technical team or project
- Comfortable presenting to clients and explaining technical choices to non-technical people
- Strong CS foundation: algorithms, data structures, distributed systems
- Strong quantitative background
- Uses modern AI development tools in daily work
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

Requirements
Applicants must have at least 5 years of production back-end engineering experience, experience leading a technical team or project, strong computer science and quantitative foundations, and fluency in spoken and written French with professional English. They must be authorized to work in Canada and live in or relocate to the Greater Montreal area; a relevant bachelor's or master's degree or equivalent experience is required, while optimization or operations research experience is an asset.
