ROLE SUMMARY

Reporting to the Head of Project Engineering, the Project Engineer is responsible for ensuring technical consistency across the various internal and external stakeholders involved in projects.

The Project Engineer coordinates engineering deliverables, validates system interfaces, supports internal teams and helps resolve technical issues. The role acts as a liaison between engineering, project management, procurement, quality and site teams, as well as suppliers and clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan engineering mandates related to projects and track engineering deliverables according to project schedules.
Prepare, maintain and manage project technical documentation.
Ensure engineering consistency across disciplines and validate system interfaces.
Review engineering deliverables to ensure quality, consistency and compliance with client requirements.
Coordinate changes related to drawings, procurement, manufacturing and site requirements.
Conduct technical coordination with clients and engineering teams.
Understand contracts and technical specifications to guide technical decisions.
Diagnose and resolve technical issues during project execution.
Provide technical support to project management, procurement and site teams.
Prepare technical specifications required for procurement.
Work with suppliers and subcontractors on the purchasing, manufacturing, modification or refurbishment of parts.
Participate in supplier evaluation and conduct factory or site visits when required.
Analyze inspection data and provide recommendations on required actions.
Prepare inspection, handling and site activity procedures.
Perform minor part design and develop calculation and validation tools when required.
Maintain drawing templates, including SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Provide technical support to the proposal team and contribute to technical proposal deliverables.

REQUIRED PROFILE

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a relevant field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar project engineering role, ideally in an industrial, manufacturing, energy or hydroelectric environment.
Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
Experience in the technical coordination of multidisciplinary projects.
Ability to understand and interpret technical specifications, contracts, drawings and engineering deliverables.
Good knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Strong technical problem-solving, organizational and priority-management skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, subcontractors and clients.
Strong English proficiency, both written and spoken, is essential to support projects and communicate with clients and partners across Canada, the United States and Europe.

WORK CONDITIONS

Permanent, full-time position, 40 hours per week.
Work location: Brossard, Quebec.
Hybrid work model according to company policy.

SOMMAIRE DU RÔLE

Sous la responsabilité du Chef de service, Ingénierie de projets, l’Ingénieur(e) de projets est responsable d’assurer la cohérence technique de l’ingénierie entre les différents intervenants internes et externes impliqués dans les projets.

La personne titulaire coordonne les livrables d’ingénierie, valide les interfaces entre les systèmes, soutient les équipes internes et contribue à la résolution des enjeux techniques. Elle agit comme point de liaison entre les équipes d’ingénierie, de gestion de projets, d’approvisionnement, de qualité et de chantier, ainsi qu’avec les fournisseurs et les clients.

RESPONSABILITÉS PRINCIPALES

Planifier les mandats d’ingénierie liés aux projets et assurer le suivi des livrables selon les échéanciers.

Produire, maintenir et gérer la documentation technique des projets.

Assurer la cohérence de l’ingénierie entre les disciplines et valider les interfaces entre les systèmes.

Réviser les livrables d’ingénierie afin d’assurer leur qualité, leur cohérence et leur conformité aux exigences du client.

Coordonner les changements liés aux dessins, à l’approvisionnement, à la fabrication ou aux besoins chantier.

Assurer la coordination technique avec les clients et les équipes d’ingénierie.

Comprendre les contrats et spécifications techniques afin d’orienter les décisions techniques.

Diagnostiquer et résoudre les problématiques techniques rencontrées durant l’exécution des projets.

Fournir un soutien technique aux équipes de gestion de projets, d’approvisionnement et de chantier.

Préparer les spécifications techniques nécessaires à l’approvisionnement.

Collaborer avec les fournisseurs et sous-traitants pour l’achat, la fabrication, la modification ou la réfection de pièces.

Participer à l’évaluation des fournisseurs et effectuer des visites en usine ou sur les chantiers lorsque requis.

Analyser les données d’inspection et formuler les recommandations appropriées.

Rédiger des procédures d’inspection, de manutention et d’activités chantier.

Réaliser la conception de pièces mineures et développer des outils de calcul et de validation lorsque requis.

Maintenir les gabarits de dessins, notamment dans SolidWorks et AutoCAD.

Fournir un soutien technique à l’équipe de soumissions et participer à la préparation des livrables techniques.

PROFIL RECHERCHÉ

Baccalauréat en génie mécanique, génie électrique ou dans un domaine pertinent.

Minimum de 5 ans d’expérience dans un rôle similaire en ingénierie de projet, idéalement dans un environnement industriel, manufacturier, énergétique ou hydroélectrique.

Membre en règle de l’Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.

Expérience en coordination technique de projets multidisciplinaires.

Capacité à comprendre et interpréter des spécifications techniques, contrats, dessins et livrables d’ingénierie.

Bonne connaissance de SolidWorks et AutoCAD.

Solides aptitudes en résolution de problèmes techniques, organisation, autonomie et gestion des priorités.

Capacité à collaborer efficacement avec les équipes internes, fournisseurs, sous-traitants et clients.

Bonne maîtrise de l’anglais, à l’oral comme à l’écrit, essentielle pour soutenir des projets et communiquer avec des clients et partenaires situés au Canada, aux États-Unis et en Europe.
