JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Developer/Team Lead will be instrumental in guiding technical direction and fostering a culture of excellence. This pivotal role will also involve championing and driving the adoption of AI and AI-assisted development practices within the team and across relevant projects. A significant aspect of this role involves leading and coordinating a team of third-party outsourced developers, ensuring their alignment with project goals, technical standards, and Livingston’s best practices. You will not only continue to contribute hands-on to complex backend and frontend development but also mentor and oversee the outsourced team, conduct thorough code reviews, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions. You'll be a technical leader, driving architectural decisions and best practices within an agile framework. This role requires a professional who can balance hands-on coding with leadership and vendor management responsibilities, ensuring project objectives are met with technical rigor, efficiency, and seamless collaboration across internal and external teams.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to)

  • Lead and mentor a team of developers, fostering their growth and ensuring adherence to best practices and coding standards.
  • Actively research, evaluate, and drive the strategic adoption of AI tools and methodologies to enhance development efficiency, code quality, and innovative solutions within our projects.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for .NET and Angular technologies, providing technical guidance, overseeing code quality, and problem-solving expertise for both internal contributions and the outsourced team's work.
  • Collaborate closely with product owners, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and define project scope, timelines, and deliverables, coordinating efforts with the outsourced team.
  • Conduct rigorous code reviews, particularly for the outsourced team, to maintain code quality, security, performance, and adherence to established standards.
  • Champion agile methodologies, actively participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, and ensuring the outsourced team is fully integrated into the agile process.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and methodologies, extending these practices to the outsourced development team.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions, often involving coordination with the outsourced team.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Technical Requirements:

Programming Languages & Frameworks:

  • Expert-level proficiency in C# and the .NET ecosystem, including .NET Core and ASP.NET Core, for building scalable and high-performance backend applications and APIs.
  • Extensive experience with Angular (latest versions) and TypeScript for robust and responsive frontend development.

Frontend Technologies:

  • Deep understanding of modern web technologies including HTML5, CSS3, SCSS/LESS, and JavaScript ES6+.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop complex, single-page applications with a focus on user experience and performance.

Backend Development & Architecture:

  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Strong grasp of architectural patterns (e.g., microservices, clean architecture, domain-driven design) and design principles (SOLID, DRY).
  • Experience with asynchronous programming and distributed systems.

Database Management:

  • Solid expertise in relational databases, particularly SQL Server, including schema design, T-SQL, query optimization, and experience with ORM frameworks like Entity Framework Core.

Cloud Platform Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably Amazon Web Services (AWS), including services like EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS (for SQL Server), API Gateway, CloudWatch, and AWS Developer Tools (CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CodePipeline)..

DevOps & CI/CD:

  • Proficiency in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as AWS Developer Tools (CodePipeline, CodeBuild), GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD for automated builds, testing, and deployments.
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like AWS EKS is highly desirable.

AI & AI-Assisted Development:

  • Demonstrated experience or a strong understanding of integrating AI tools and methodologies into the development lifecycle. Experience with Devin is preferred, alongside other AI code assistants (like GitHub Copilot), AI-driven testing tools, and code analysis.
  • Ability to evaluate and drive the adoption of new AI-powered development practices to enhance efficiency and innovation.

Code Quality, Security & Testing:

  • Expertise in conducting rigorous code reviews, identifying performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
