Position Summary: Dining Services Aides will work as part of the Lloydminster Region Housing Group o/a Pioneer Lodge and House Team to provide support services to the residents. They will be responsible for day-to-day tasks involved with dining room service and assisting in the kitchen as required. The Dining Services Aides will provide vital, essential services within Pioneer Lodge and House and will model a healthy culture in accordance with the Purpose, Mission, and Core Values of LRHG.
Responsible to: The Dining Services Aides will report to the Dining Services Supervisor or delegate. The Dining Services Supervisor may periodically assign additional duties not outlined below.
Hours of Work:
Dining Services Aides are scheduled to staff our facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to lift & transfer heavy and hot items, up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand/walk for an entire shift
- Must be willing to work all shifts - days, evenings, and nights, including weekends and statutory holidays.
- Will maintain the highest standards of hygiene and personal appearance.
- Will possess a pleasant, willing, flexible, and positive attitude.
- Will have a desire to work with seniors and display a service mindset.
- Must be able to work and communicate effectively with all members of the Pioneer Lodge and House team.
- Must maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
- Load/unload & transport dishes, food & beverages, as necessary.
- Complete checklists, records, and logs as needed.
- Assist in the set up and preparation for service of various items such as beverages salads, desserts, etc.
- Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
- Assist with cleaning of dishware, cutlery at the conclusion of each seating as required.
- Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen and dining area as required.
- Assist with catering, and actively participate in special occasions and theme events.
- Assist in the orientation and training of new dining employees.
- Follow and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures.
- Comply with all provincial regulations and established department policies and procedures.
- Attend staff meetings as required & to be aware of changes that have taken place in the Residence.

- Complete other duties as assigned.

- Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for majority of shift and work all shifts including day, evening, nights, weekends and statutory holidays.
