Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. May serve as the point of contact for logistics with the customer and provide advice or training on system design and specifications. Functions as the internal design interface between support system, concepts and specifications. Performs analysis of the sustainment system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Other analysis may include interface studies, timeline and requirements allocation, effectiveness, verification, cost/risk, and supportability.

Core Responsibilities:

LSA Program Leadership – Review, validate, and manage Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) processes; lead the implementation of LSA programs across Combat Systems; conduct analysis on new platforms and review Logistics Support Analysis Record (LSAR) data received from internal staff and subcontractors.

Customer Interface – Act as the point of contact with customers for all LSA related issues and discussions, ensuring expectations are met and concerns are resolved in a timely manner.

Cross Functional Collaboration – Work with system engineers, integrated product teams, supply chain leads, and other stakeholders to define program LSA needs, develop solutions, and embed sustainment considerations into the overall system architecture.

Technical Mentoring & Issue Management – Manage LSA related technical issues raised by the ILS team; mentor junior analysts; maintain quality and consistency across analyses.

Compliance & Reporting – Monitor and report compliance status of LSA performed on all systems in support of program deliverables, providing actionable insights to program management.

Analytical & Design Activities:

  • Perform Design for Supportability (DfS) analysis.
  • Conduct Reliability, Maintainability and Availability (RMA) analysis.
  • Execute Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA).
  • Apply Reliability Centered Maintenance Analysis (RCMA).
  • Carry out Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA).
  • Develop comprehensive Maintenance Plans.
  • Perform Sparing and Level of Repair (LORA) analyses.
  • Calculate Life Cycle Cost (LCC).
  • Analyze support and test equipment requirements.

Technical Documentation – Develop accurate, standards compliant LSARs and technical content for operational manuals and sustainment documentation.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum five (5) years of professional experience in Integrated Logistics Support, sustainment engineering, or closely related field, preferably within a defense or maritime environment.
  • Proven record developing and documenting LSARs, Integrated Logistics Support Plans, Maintenance Conception Documents, and Spare‑Parts Determination Reports for complex, multi‑platform programs.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting DfS, RMA, FMECA, RCMA, MTA, Sparing, LORA, and LCC analyses and leveraging results to influence design and procurement.
  • Ability to obtain NATO Secret clearance in a timely manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, thriving in matrixed and dynamic program environments.
  • Self‑driven initiative, autonomy, and adaptability to shifting priorities and evolving program requirements.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Familiarity with Canadian Defence procurement rules and Integrated Logistics Support framework.
  • Proficiency in configuration‑management and model‑based systems engineering tools such as Windchill, DOORS, and Cameo.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent priorities while delivering milestone‑aligned ILS outputs.
  • Knowledge of SysML or other object‑oriented modeling languages as applied to logistics.
  • Exposure to Agile development, Lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies in a sustainment context.
